FOLLOW UP (10/29/16): I have heard from DJI and they are working with me to get this drone back to HQ so they can analyze it and get me a replacement. So far, I have been impressed with their responsiveness to this issue. I am hopeful that this is an outlier and will be taken care of so that nobody else has these problems.

I would love to hear some people's feedback. I received my Mavic Pro on 10/25/16 and have taken it on 15 flights for a total flight time of 1 hour 8 minutes. Most of those flights went very well, but there were a few that have me very concerned. I'll detail them here:

10/26/16 - 12:25 PM (Video of flight - https://www.dropbox.com/s/mqde2q ... m%20flight.mov?dl=0)

Flight time of about 10:30 minutes - At the end of the flight I tried using the tracking feature. It followed me for a short time, then it turned and went straight into a tree. It got stuck in the branches of the tree, but fortunately there was no damage.

10/26/16 - 4:03 PM (Video of flight - https://www.dropbox.com/s/1b1pimtegn9ezev/403pm%20flight.mov?dl=0)

Flight time of about 1 minute. Shortly after I initiated lift off, the Mavic started moving very fast away from me at about 4 feet above the ground, even though I was not touching the controls. It stopped before hitting a tree, and hovered in place. I was unable to control it with the remote, so I attempted to initiate the landing sequence. It responded, but instead of landing, it crashed at high speed into a tree and broke it's propellers.

10/26/16 - 4:30 PM (Video of flight - https://www.dropbox.com/s/sv71vhcaoy7ctal/430%20flight.mov?dl=0)

Flight time of about 8 minutes. I replaced the broken propellers and attempted to fly the Mavic again. It seemed to fly fine until the end where it unexpectedly landed on it's own, about 100 feet away from where it had taken off. Fortunately, this was in my backyard, on the grass.

10/26/16 - 5:28 PM (Video of flight - https://www.dropbox.com/s/wjwc0opttn57cbg/528pm%20flight.mov?dl=0)

Attempted one last flight to see what would happen. I initiated lift off and the Mavic began to spin around in circles very fast, even though I wasn't touching the controls. It lifted up, then dropped back down multiple times. It would not respond to any commands on the controls. Finally, after almost 2 minutes, it responded to the land command and landed. It would not respond to further commands.

This video might make you sick - Video from the drone of the last flight - https://www.dropbox.com/s/j9co39 ... 6_17_28_41.mp4?dl=0

Sounds like you got a dud. Definitely something to take up with DJI support, who will ask for your flight logs like he^ said.

Yeah, to be fair to DJI, no log it didn't happen.

I know everything on the internet is true but I heard, once, that someone might have posted incorrect information.

This spinning around is one that has been reported 3/4 times from other users including two crashes, it sounds like a firmwear update is needed, it would help if you uploaded flight logs here, you may end up getting different opinions, but if you get dji Ken to look at them he has already been looking at other similar logs.

This is likely why all the delay. They shipped a small amount to prevent people from canceling. Its simply not ready for sale! upload the logs so it can be validated.

WOW, Did you call customer support (818-235-0789) to start a ticket?
What is your email and I can look at your basic flight info.
But for the full DAT flight records you need to connect the aircraft to the DJI Assistant2 software
http://www.dji.com/mavic/info#downloads then save the DAT files to your computer and upload them to Dropbox or something like that. Start a ticket and include the Dropbox link and they will perform a flight data analysis.

No matter what he was flying before or didn't fly, if this is all true and checked positive, this is catastrophical at best, even worse than that.
This needs some serious looking into.

I agree with Ange1walk - not that it matters, but this is my first DJI drone. I have flown a number of different drones prior to this, and I consider myself to be pretty capable. Check out the videos I posted in my first message if you need further proof of these flights.

Were you doing those left-stick controls in the last video? It is full right and occasionally full upwards.

If not, we need a new internet-term for it. LSI (Left Stick Issue)

In the last video, I was trying to get the drone to land or at least respond in some way, so I was probably doing some of those controls. I definitely wasn't doing all of them though.

DJI-Ken - I did start a ticket with support over the website chat yesterday, but I never heard anything back and it's been over 24 hours. I have also tried emailing with no response. I'd rather not post my email address - can you send me a direct message?

Those first deliveries are not customers, they are beta testers... They just paid $1000 each to be part of the program.

We shouldn't jump to too many conclusions, but at this moment I am so glad I haven't ordered my mavic yet.
Some of these stories are pretty awful, and I feel so sorry for these fully paid up beta testers!

I hope dji comes up with some solutions fast for these issues, otherwise this is going to put some strain on their new product introduction process.

That was my thought exactly.  Now we know why they took down the Beta program from this forum - in a real Beta program like that, presumably the Beta testers get some extra assurances about speedy replacements of their drones should they crash while testing the beta product.  No need to offer such extra assurances to the "fortunate 50" in this case.

Me too.  I REALLY want to own this drone - once it's a little more reliable.

Still seems to me like leaving off a dedicated ATTI mode on the mode switch was a mistake.

Hmm, it got stuck 2x Fully on the Right, look at OPs Remote Commands from the Log Data, always got stuck on the right, could be related.

Don't worry it WILL get worked out.  (They always do...)

However in this case... Not sure ATTI would make if the controller software is not responding to stick movement.

Pressing the RTH button may be the best move in this situation?

All the technology in these things is great when it works but wow. I'm getting a little concerned at the type of issues people are having. I've had some odd behaviour with DJI gear in the past like the much spoken of Naza fly away. At least with that, flicking back to full manual control pulled you out of the crap. This sort of issue is next level scary particularly considering the investment.

The whole waiting for the preorder thing; I'm becoming more comfortable with that by the minute. Time to dust of the F550 and get that back in the air I think.
