After the Best Buy shafting, I thought I'd check other retailers. Just ordered a Mavic Pro from Walmart and was assured they have it IN STOCK right now. THEIR warehouse. AND I wasn't charged sales tax. So happy right now.

Hate to be a skeptic... But that is not likely to be the case... I seriously doubt they will have any in the first week of November, or the 2nd week, or 3rd. Wal-Mart is not a "tech shop", and I just don't see how they would have stock before Apple or BestBuy. I am not saying they are deliberately trying to deceive you (like DJI), but who ever you were chatting with probably does not know the difference between a DJI Mavic, and a houla hoop.

Well in Australia not a f. single drone has been shipped. Lucky you guys

I don't know man. Maybe I'm being too optimistic, but I've never had a CS rep at Best Buy/Amazon actually confirm that they have it in their warehouse rather than DJI's.

I have a good feeling about this one.

This is what I've been telling people. I ordered a combo today on Amazon UK. It's saying 'we have your order' and it will be 'released on the Nov 4th' In tracking it says dispatching on 3rd, arrive my 4th.

Yeah... I don't believe BestBuy has any in their warehouse either. I don't think ANY us retailer has had any stock arrive yet. I have all kinds of reasons why I believe this, but there is not point beating a dead horse.

Many sellers through Amazon claim "out of stock" with no date to be available, NewEgg says the same. Apple, the most valued retailer for DJI, will not be getting them for weeks. Even BestBuy (small potatoes, compared to the others) does not have any stock. And these are all tech retailers. WalMart is more of a toy dealer.

Now, here's the proof. If you look on WalMart's site, and search for the DJI Mavic Pro, you see that they DO have it listed... But WalMart does not sell it. It clearly states "Sold and Shipped by Beach Camera". Now, they are a tech dealer of sorts, along the same lines as B&H, specializing in camera sales... But a smaller organization. In short, they are not going to have it either. But the point here is, if they told you WalMart has it in their warehouse, that would have to be a lie. They are not even a direct retailer for DJI.

The only other thing I can say is... I HOPE I am wrong!

No, nothing to do with Walmart. What I'm saying is companies like Amazon, Walmart, Apple etc will have been receiving stock, but I can only assume they're contractually obliged to keep them on hold until an agreed date. I guess Amazon UK (EU) still haven't sold their stock, so you can still order now and receive on the 4th.

That's possible for Apple and Amazon, but not WalMart... They do not sell DJI (not directly), so they would not have any stock in their warehouse.

Well, you guys got them all already, cause they're gone. I thought I was good cause there were 3 left when I started the process, but I guess it's whoever finishes first. Damnit. Seems awfully good to be true anyway. But good luck!

As i was in the checkout in walmart site. i hit check ouy. it said sold out!!!! UHHHHH

And it's out of stock.

I find it odd that he'd say things like "we do have the item in our warehouse" and "we have large bulk for this item" if he wasn't basing that on anything. I mean he put me on hold and checked something.

damn i must've gotten lucky...cuz i was getting denied at first from my banks fraud protection.  i was like it's NOT FRAUD LET ME BUY THIS BEFORE EVERYONE ON THE FORUM FINDS OUT! Paypal to the rescue!

Now the question is.... did they pull it because they actually sold out of stock or because they shouldn't have it listed in the first place?

God, the mavic is the most stressful purchase I've ever made.

I'm one of those who got 1 of the 7 (in theory).  Note that Walmart is NOT the fulfiller here - it's Beach Camera.  So I don't know how a Walmart Chat agent would be able to know what the stock is.  I'm also very skeptical, and immediately send a note to the seller (Beach Camera) through Walmart.com to clarify that they do have stock, or to cancel my order.  Note that on Beach Camera, they don't show stock.

same....i'm not 100% they'll ship next week either...here is what they said when i spoke with the CS.

Going out on a limb and saying:  yeah they aren't going to have any next week and will issue a statement saying it will be late Nov.    Just a hunch.

Yes Walmart is a third party, I'd buy directly from Beach Camera. I noticed they have a good return policy flexible 45 day, plus free shipping. They also carry an insurance policy 1yr and 2 yr. About the same cost as DJI. Of course they are not in stock but they'll get them sometime. Disclaimer: I'm not associated with Beach Camera, just letting you know of other options out there.

That's cool.  We have 2 contradictory chats for Walmart - so even if Walmart.com trys to pull a "we can't cancel it, only the seller can", we should be able to use this as a get out of jail card free to demonstrate how Walmart.com provided inaccurate information.

Yeah beach camera. Best Buy couldn't get their crate, but beach camera! I'm sticking with the dji que, seems like other than Newegg, really the only people who have them. I see Gearbest has a preorder, but the price is high. They're a chinese vendor.

I remember watching a documentary about Walmart a while back, and it went on about how advanced and precise their inventory management is. Like next-level inventory system.

Whats the chat have to do with the sales screens?  Thats Beach Camera (which isn't WalMart).  Im confused.

If DJI knew that there were still kinks, and also hadn't produced too many, maybe they would ship small lots to smaller stores.  Who would you rather piss off with tons of returns and customer complsints, Apple/Best Buy or Beach?
