I just purchased a new Phantom FC-40.
The system seems to have gone through its standard check but stays as a slow green blinking LED after.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Do you mean once the battery is in and you have placed it on the ground?

The LED will flash green and then a number of red flashes depending on how many GPS satellites it is picking up.  Once you have enough satellites the red light will stop and the green will flash periodically - that should mean you are ready to fly.
