When you update your stand alone A3 to v1.5, you will notice that there is a change in the IMU calibration process for better accuracy. Similar to the DJI Mavic, you will need to position your aircraft in multiple angles in order to complete the calibration process:
A3 imu cali.JPG

When one position is complete, the corresponding picture will have a green check mark to let you know to reposition the craft. You will receive a larger "Complete" notification when the IMU calibration process is complete.

Please be advised that the upside down position is completely optional, especially if you're using a larger craft. Performing only the first 5 positions will still guarantee precision accuracy to the IMU.

Hi Jamie. I've only conducted the calibration process via the app, bit hard doing it next to my PC via a USB lead. In the app it only shows to rotate the airframe nose up, nose down and then vertical on the left and right axis? Why is the Assistant process have extra steps?

This is what I was asking also. The calibration process is different when using the app. I've flown it a few times using the app calibration and my S900 flies fine.

I'm inquiring with our R&D team with this and I should have further information for you shortly.

From what I've found through some testing is that if you place the unit upside down earlier on, then it will give you a green check mark and still allow you to perform the other five positions before giving you the "complete" option. From what I've seen, there does not seem to be any difference in the accuracy of the IMU readings whether or not you perform the upside down position. Since the Go app does not require for the unit to be upside down, this does seem to be a more optional position when using the Assistant 2 software. I'm checking with R&D to verify the latter.

If you are a completionist, sort of speak, I would recommend placing the unit upside down at any point during positions 1-5. As I mentioned in another thread, you are able to perform these positions in an indiscriminate order and still receive a successful calibration. Either way, as long as you get a "complete" notification and the IMU data is within its appropriate standards, then you would be fine.

Factory reset would be the "Restore" button that is located on the Dashboard page.

Now I have tried and start over
appears and be somewhat better
seems it is not quite as wind stable
do you have an idea of what I might adjust on to and make it more wind stable
because it works differently than a2 I am unsure what I may adjust on

It normally involves adjusting the gains. Just to make sure I'm on the same page, is it still moving up and down or is it moving differently?

Just to let everyone know, I did confirm that the upside down position is completely optional. Post #1 has been edited to reflect as such.

I find it easier to calibrate the IMU in the Go App as this is more like the previous calibration process with no aircraft acrobatics which is difficult on the larger aircraft.

Just to clarify, which Assistant 2 version are you using? There was a newer one that was just released. In addition, I would recommend giving an IMU calibration via the Go app as SkySight mentioned if you have a large rig. It will make it a little easier to do. Everything else is fine to do via the Assistant.

I did the calibration using Go app. Thanks.
I use Assistant 2 v1.0.9 and upgrade A3 to v1.07.0.0.
Assistant 2 "frozen" again before Dashboard
Can I use short-circuit the signal pins of F1/F2 ports for hard reset to factory settings?

I don't believe the F1/F2 pin trick would work with the A3. Could you happen to provide a screenshot of where if happens to freeze?

I'm sorry if this was missed, but have you already tried reinstalling the latest software, or installing the previous Assistant 2 to see if it responds that way?

Hello, I am trying to preform Accurate Polyhedron Calibration to see if I can remove YAW drift, My DJI Assistant 2 Software version is 1.1.6 and My flight controller is An A3 pro running firmware version is V1.7.1.5

Under Tools / topoolgy  I click on the main FC then click on IMU calibration I click Confirm to the Tips, I Click on settings it gives me the option between monohedron Calibration or Polyhedron Calibration, I check the Polyhedron Calibration box, I click on Yes at the bottom right of the DJI assistant 2 software but nothing happens and when I navigate back to the IMU calibration options it reverts back to fast  monohedron Calibration and, I can try and click on calibrate but nothing happens, Only way to do the calibration is within the DJI Go app now.

When will an update be available?
