This is exactly what happened to me last week. So far DJI support has given me mixed messages. Email ...

As someone that is looking to see DJI resolve these issues, I really would like a clear and simple way to see some conclusions.
Is there a method that this forum can use to collate the issues, and show the resolutions easily so everyone doesn't have to wade through pages and pages of comments to see what the outcomes are.
I am personally getting lost trying to follow what has been reported

Here is a link to a video upload of the flight record through the DJI app. sorry I dont know how to ...

Ok N3VO , that definitely in my opinion shows aircraft not responding to the stick movement, my advice is see if you can contact mod Ken to see if he can follow it up it's most likely they will do it in private, but maybe you can come back an let us know outcome,
Good luck..

Maybe DJI will release a firmware update for Mavic soon that'll allow users to switch into ATTI mode at any time in case they run into any compass interference during flight. That's what the DJI Go app does with the Phantom 4, alerts the user to switch into ATTI mode whenever it detects interference.
This is all a long learning process for DJI with their new drone. Same can be said for the GoPro Karma, which I've seen do the same thing on iJustine's YouTube video. Swayed into a wall twice.

Found it, would you like me to send the drone back with this label?

Hi if they give you a case number, they will also arrange pick up, they will email you with instructions of what you need to send back, and the necessary documents , i.e. Inventory of what your sending they may ask for copy of invoice, I've been through the process here in Europe, it was fairly painless, and once they receive it get a mod on your case and they will keep you posted, you can also check progress on dji go app ..

man, I was like a kid waiting for christmas day to get my mavic, now I wish I hadnt sold my P4 as quickly as I did and kept hold of it until these shocking issues had been fully investigated and resolved. Seriously this is not good news DJI, these reliability and quality issues should have been dealt with during your exstensive development program... very shoddy and massively dissapointing for a company with the reputation you have I must admit.

In that case it will be a Samsung problem... Just wait forever for it to be resolved.

(that was sarcasm, jeez..)

On a more serious note, I think you may have cooked your own goose. You noticed a screw had fallen out, you posted about it online here, you even raised a DJI support ticket over it, and then you continued flying anyway, as sending it back would take a long time?

It DOES sound like a common problem, so I hope DJI will do the decent thing and fix it in general and yours in particular, at no charge. However if they decide not to fix yours without payment, seeing as how you decided to just 'wing it' anyway, knowing the craft was insecurely assembled, I don't think I could blame them for that.

A similar thing happened to me this afternoon but luckily no crash.

I was flying perfectly fine for a long time and then got a GPS signal loss error which switched the aircraft into ATTI mode. I was trying to control it and it was very unresponsive (not fully), and I was able to get it down to me for a safe landing. Uploaded my logs to HD, anyone want to look to see what happened here?

Happens towards the end of the flight, you can see it from basically the 14min mark

What is the email you use for the app and I can look t your flight.
Also, sync your flight records to the DJI cloud.
From the home page, top left icon takes you to the flight records. To sync, tap the cloud icon top right.
Also, you can play back your flight and tap the RC icon and that will overlay your sticks and you can see if your stick movements were effecting the Mavic.

Exact same thing just happened to me...on the first flight. Was taking off indoors and it shot to the left in ATTI mode, hit the wall and broke props. Tried again, same thing. Luckily only the props, but still very discouraging. Tripod mode fail.

He has nothing to worry about. One of the fine folks on the forum said he would pay for his drone if it crashed.
Same member told him to fly it as is with no worries.
Wonder if he'll keep his promise?

Actually all adds up now. i was thinking that it was due to ATTI mode, but actually because of the calibration issue. Left stick is stuck at 4% down, hence the loss of elevation. Right stick varies from being stuck at ~12-14% down causing it to take off in reverse. Was pointed at northeast in the room and it shot back southwest. This is really disappointing. Lost my props and now controller is stuck in 'Mech Error' after trying to calibrate. Support's only advice? 'Use a different device. Reinstall the app. R&D is working on it'

Having not yet received my Mavic I have a quick question.  If I were to add the DJI Care Refresh and then experienced this lack of control problem resulting in a crash in water, would I be covered or not?  Having to go through a return/replace process would be a major pain, but losing the entire investment would be a deal killer.

Well, i can only say that Parrot gave you a full replacement in such cases that just SOUNDED like caused by Software error.
And the Bebop is considered a ($900 with controller) toy.
So DJI MUST replace fully in this stage of chaotic Problems, if it just SMELLS like its their fault, right ?
Right ?

No, DJI will wash their hands of all responsibility the moment you get any DJI drone wet.

That it was the drone's own fault or their system that caused it may be blindingly obvious but they will still deny and deny and deny any responsibility once the drone is wet.

Which is the 2nd reason I haven't ordered one yet.

Just so we are clear. In ATTI mode on any drone when you release the sticks the drone will continue in the direction it was last told to go. You physically have to move the sticks in the opposite direction to stop the movement. Also if you see a warning regarding gps issues it's probably prudent to land, especially when you are aware that you are surrounded by power lines. I am very sorry for your crash or anybodies for that matter but I get frustrated when pilot error gets construed as drone error. The warning signs started with the loose screw. I have been building drones for a couple years now and have had fly always. While looking into them I'd find that I had done something or wasn't aware of a condition that would cause an issue. There is a lot to learn when it comes to these machines. They are complex and there are a lot of systems involved that have to all work in unison. Please make sure you are aware of surroundings. First flights should be done in open fields and low altitudes until you know the systems are working properly and that you are comfortable with the controls.

Agree entirely, just seems most first flights are being done indoors by inexperienced flyers , I have some experience but my test flight with Mavic when I get it will be outside, and that's just what it will be a test flight.

Not completely true, while momentum will take the drone in that direction, letting go of the stick the drone will slow and come to a hover over a certain amount of feet (wind will cause it to drift though) I actually did take the drone on test flight in open area and it worked fine. The drone was at a very low altitude, so not a whole lot of wind. If you look at my post you will see the drone did not react to any counter movements, even at pushing 100%
