I shot some footage yesterday in 1080p 60fps and during editing, I noticed that the footage is extremely pixelated with lots of artefacts. The footage I shot was for a client is basically unusable.

Compared to my P3P,  it's truly horrible. I'm really regretting selling my P3P now...

I can't upload my video because it's for a professional project.

Does anyone know if there's a known issue with 1080p60?

That's because the Mavic 1080p modes are basically broken.
This mode uses pixel binning so is unusable.

DJI should never have released the 50/60p option on this platform or disable it.

2.7k 25/30 is the optimum mode

I found this out the other day after reading this thread.. http://forum.dji.com/thread-68842-1-3.html This was a deal breaker for me. I cancelled and grabbed a P4.

If you read the thread I posted a link to you'll see more details on it.

Not broken, just a limitation in the method used to capture 1080p60 footage. It causes aliasing and generally pixelated image.

Wow, why did DJI advertise the Mavic as a 1080p 60fps capable device then? That's false advertising! Also, we were told the Mavic had the same sensor as the P4.

This is truly ridiculous and false advertising from DJI. I guess I'll return my Mavic. I'm not buying another DJI drone.

Sometimes there's unforeseen issues that are usually resolved in future firmware updates.

I think the Mavic suffered from the Gopro launch in that they rushed this drone big time. 1080 is what most amateurs will shoot. They don't have the computers to edit 4k.

It can't be fixed with firmware. It is a limitation of how the Mavic creates a 1080 image with pixel binning.  You would need to replace the processors or sensor. Mavic Pro 2 will probably work correctly.  4K on any Phantom/Mavic is pretty poor due to a max bit rate of 60 Mbps.  2.7k/30 is the optimal mode.  And it looks good from the tests I've seen (Phillip Bloom).   I too shoot mostly 1080/60 on my P4 and occasionally 2.7k/30.  4K just looks washed out and too noisy to me.  So, if you're ok to limit yourself to 30fps then the Mavic might be ok.  I will keep the phantom but still want Mavic for the portability hiking/traveling and will be stoked to take pics and 2.7k/30!

Well this is a a shame. I did think that about my recent 1080p 60fps footage. I will test out 2.7k soon. Also no audio recorded during my 1080p recording. Not sure why. Gotta do more testing.

You don't get audio on DJI drones except phantom 2 with GoPro or maybe high end Inspires(don't think so)

Oh damn! I did think that may be the case but didn't even bother to look into it yet. I could have swore I watched a video and it had the audio you could hear the drone flying the entire time, maybe this was GoPro Karma or something Oops.

Thanks for clarifying

I think what you are talking about are a number of video reviews where they continue commenting whilst filming themselves, but with no microphones even visible? I too was wondering how they edit the voice over to the video with perfect lipsync etc. I'm a noob novice as you can tell, but I know DJI drones dont do audio, plus all you would hear is motor whine.
