I'm sorry I do not have any info on Best Buy or other dealers orders. I will ask thought and post here if I get any info.I am glad that DJI has made this announcement.

I think this is an useful update, it clears states that DJI is planning to clear all back log in the next 8 weeks and caught up on current and future orders by then.

Good to see the update.. It shows that a massively popular products can be a double edged sword for companies. Glad to se they are looking at an alternative way to deal with payments. Although taking the money is not a bad thing ( as you are committing to pay anyway ), people have been "conditioned" by modern box sifters like BB and Amazon to not expect it. Most smaller retailers will still take payment at ordering.

Anyway, good news and hopefully this place will settle down a bit..

Considering the current firmware bugs.. at least you won't crash yours (hopefully the bug will be fixed by then).
My suggestion is: if you don't need the Mavic portability, cancel your order and buy a P4 or a P3P: better video, more mature software, better price. It's better under any aspect except the size.

This update is definitely the right move from DJI and will be largely appreciated by those who ordered directly from DJI.
However, this hasn't answered another big question about the delivery schedule to Apple. Apple was advertised as being part of this big launch so naturally, many of us decided to preorder from Apple instead of DJI for different reasons (staff discount, no immediate charge to credit card, price in local currency, etc.).
Ken, after your good night sleep, certainly well deserved, please help us to get an update for Apple deliveries and if you really can't, then tell us if this is related to some non-disclosure agreement that DJI would have signed with Apple.

Thank you very much for posting, and I totally understand and I'm glad they made the announcement.

Yeah hopefully it will ease the strain on the forum staff like you.

Although if they just made this announcement a week or so ago, it probably would have helped ease the craziness a fair amount. Oh well at least they finally did it. Communication goes a long way.

The delay has not dented my enthusiasm for the Mavic Pro I know it will be excellent, if the build quality is like the P4 I know this will be another fantastic drone

I am assuming they sent out the email to ALL people that have pre-ordered a Mavic?

I ordered mine on Sep 30th but I still received that email so I don't know if this means I will get mine earlier or if I am expected to wait 6-8 weeks also?

PS I appreciate your efforts Ken as you are doing the best you can with the limited information you have been given

I agree, Ken if you can ask the question of the relevant person/department that would be greatly appreciated.

Many of us trust Apple(rightly or wrongly) & ordered through them as they were put forward as the major release partner for DJI quoting the daye os 02/11(less said the better) & are now left like Apple floating in the wind with our pre orders, mine only since 01/10.

Hello Ken,

What's the deal with amazon.co.uk? They're advertising delivery 16th Nov. Presumably they placed a very big order several weeks ago and are expecting it to be fulfilled by DJI before 16 Nov. Is that correct?

That's every Mavic ordered as of today, so that means up to a two month wait for orders made TODAY. I assume if you have preorders in October you won't be waiting that long but some significantly lesser time. It will be worth it, I've had mine now for 4 days and bottom line is there is nothing on the market like this, the GoPro Karma (which it isn't either) even if available isn't in the same universe.
