No, the Z30 is not supported for the Inspire series, only the Matrice series (M100 and M600). The Matrice series and the Z30 are considered Industrial products. Industrial platforms have access to Onboard SDK and use accessories to reinforce the stability needed to perform industiral jobs.

I thought the inspire 1 could also do industrial jobs.  The inspire 1 can do the mapping and survey/inspection, correct?

It's a commercial decision by DJI - don't expect it to change.
Similar to the XT camera not being supported on the OSMO - sure, technically it could be made to function - but commercial arrangements and licensing prohibit it.

I'd say that the Z30 is probably a bit on the heavy side for the Inspire platform.

Doubtful - if the Matrice 100 can lift it the I1 can lift it.

This is likely artificial differentiation and nothing more.

Here is the actual camera block if you really want to put it on your inspire, it's certainly designed for security/industrial applications not hi end video work.
