Like Aardvark suggests, using a video editor will generally reduce the file size and still maintain very good quality. There are way too many programs to list, but a lot of free software out there that will do the job. For example, I will take a 1-gig video file and run it through my video editor and even if I choose the best quality output, (with most you have several choices of format, resolution, quality, etc.) and not cutting any video out, the output will be around 250-300 mb. About 25% of original footage. I'm not sure what it is actually doing, but the uploaded video still looks as crisp and clean as the original. Just an example for you. If you choose lesser resolution, etc. the file will be even smaller than the example I gave you. Also with an editor, depending on your limits (if you have any, some internet providers have limits to file sizes on what you can send) you could just simply break up your clips into a couple smaller segments. Anyway, this works well for me. I totally know what you are going through. Good luck! |
