I noticed in my footage that the video was a little choppy... Anyone know what could be causing this? I was filming at 2.7k 30fps on a SanDisk MicroSD Ultra 64GB - 80MB/s.
I'm quite sure that the footage direct off the Mavic was smooth or atleast smoother. So I'm not sure if it's the rendering of the footage on Premiere Pro?

Not related to your question, but what are the regulations to fly in Malaysia? Don't you need a license there?
I'll be in Malaysia for a few days in January and am not sure if I should bring the drone or not.

You removed the Gimbal Cover or not? it flied under P mode or S mode? any strong wind when flying?
Would you please upload the original video without editing to dropbox for further evaluation?

The problem is that you're having the Mavic Pro write Ultra 4K HD content onto a SanDisk Ultra SD Card, or some other SD card. It's not good enough as that's for 1080p HD content, outdated tech. You need a SanDisk Extreme Pro (U3) SD Card for the best possible results. Write speed of up to 100 MB/s.

Yes all gimbal cover and clamp was removed, it was in P mode. Winds were not strong.

I will try get the original footage sorted but I have looked and it doesn't seem choppy to me or at least not where near as choppy as my YouTube video so I would assume this is a Adobe Premiere Pro rendering problem and not the Mavic itself.

Would this also be fine... I'd rather not spend £100 on a SD card.

More than enough, 4K is not as demanding as writing RAW photo files.
It will be the rendering needs a tweak most likely.
If you have a recent version the 4K youtube presets work quite well.

Yes, that one is fine. It's the same as the one I suggested but lower size, that's all.

No it's not, the one you suggested is a even newer one than the one I posted. It comes with USB adapter instead of SD card adapter and has 200MB/s + speed etc. It costs £98 for the 64GB apposed to this older version that costs £38 for the 64GB.

OK even though I only filmed at 2.7k 30fps I'm trying to export now at the YouTube 4K setting. See what happens. Will exporting at 4K when only filmed at 2.7K not cause any issues with the quality of the video?

I use Sony Vegas Pro 14.0 for all of my 4K editing work. I suggest that you do the same. If you do switch to using it, make sure to set pixel format in Files > Properties to 8-bit, otherwise you'll experience lag duing editing.

The police just issued a carpet ban on all drones. You will need a permit to fly a drone in Malaysia. Having said that, they are a lot of ways around the authorities in Malaysia. Nothing a couple bucks can't fix.

I normally use Sony Vegas for all my editing. It's what I've always used. But I wanted to learn Adobe Premiere Pro. I only have Premiere Pro on my laptop that I'm using whilst travelling anyway so I will maybe continue with Vegas when I return home to my desktop PC.

Thanks for the advice.

Looks like one or two things going on here.

1) Shutter speed was very high - we can't fix this until ND filters are available
2) If you shoot at 30fps make sure your timeline is 30fps and not 24fps

also use the in-drone format procedure. do not format your sdcard on your computer but do so directly with the drone.

Your card reading speed is 80mb/s but writing speed might be significantly lower. I have the same issue with the stock card that arrived with Mavic but go wonder ... its U1 Class 10 with 25Mb/s write speed which is not good for 4K video.

I have the same issue with choppy footage in 2.7k at 30fps. It's disappointing. I am using the same micro SD Extreme that I use in my GoPro and get fantastic, smooth 4k footage. It's disappointing. I think the Mavic is a compromise of size vs. camera quality.

I managed to fix mine, was nothing to do with the drone. It was just my rendering in Adobe Premiere Pro, that's all.

What did you do to fix the issue? List your previous then fixed settings.

All I did was change the sequence settings within Premiere Pro before going to export and render. I changed the Timebase to 30fps. I think it was set to 29.97fps or something random here, so you have to make sure that even if your export settings are correct, you have to make sure the sequence settings are what you need also. Because my export was 30fps but I was still getting choppy footage in the final product because the sequence wasn't 30fps.
