He has probably sold/convinced more than any other youtuber.

One of his vlogs a few weeks after preorder he said something along the lines of having to order and wait in line like everyone else, I could be remembering that wrong tho.

Have you gone on eBay and looked for Mavics for sale?  Very informative.  

Yeah I put my preorder in after watching his video. So probably worth it for DJI to send him a new one.

Casey was at the mavic launch folks, he was gifted a mavic by DJI for review etc and ended up loosing that, but he also said that he pre-ordered one so he most likely got it fair n square.

You really think he paid or even preordered? I doubt it Shame on DJI for promoting unsafe flying. That's all the posts about drones he makes money off

I suspect a decent amount of mavic's are being shipped (obviously not as many as we would like) but I see a lot of them online now.

If that's case I agree with you. And I don't doubt that Dji's actions don't necessarily correspond with the beliefs of the  employees.

DJI did  not give CN a Mavic.  There are many dealers and others that have access to preproduction units.  We did not give him one.  You can choose to believe what you wish but that is the simple fact.

Casey will smash it to bits within a week.

Goes to Mavic release event on Sept. 27th and publishes Mavic review on Sept. 28th. And I would think Preproduction models sent to dealers would be accounted for. I mean that the dealers can't give them away. It doesn't really matter unless he hurts someone someday with a future preproduction model. Hopefully that never happens.  Nothing personal towards you...You do your best to give us the answers to our questions and are patient with our complaints. And I understand wh they would give it to him...5 million youtube hits on his review. Crazy how popular he has become!

This really makes me angry though.   Quite honestly -- and I hate to say this -- I'm not sure WHAT to believe anymore.  I have ZERO trust left to give.
Casey went to the launch event.   He came back home with a Mavic and was using it and had a video up the same day as the event.   

He repeatedly thanked DJI -- not any reseller or dealer -- and talked about how great of a company they are.   

So yeah...   I'm having some trust issues right now.   Major ones.

Yea, I find that hard to believe it was a dealer and not DJI itself that gave him his original preproduction one. It makes absolute sense that DJI would send him one along with the other major vloggers that received one because they created a huge buzz around the product for a very low cost to DJI.

I don't understand why it matters if a dealer or DJI gave CN a free drone, other than to the dealer or DJI. If I choose to, I can give stuff away to anyone I like.
Tahoe Ed has said that DJI didn't give CN a Mavic drone, so there's the answer.  But if they wanted to who am I to stop them.

It really doesn't matter.    It also doesn't matter at all that it pisses me off, but it does.

Last vlog I saw from CN he was out in Southern California flying the Karma/Phantom 4 comparo and claimed that he didn't have a Mavic as he crashed it in the river.

DJI has stated multiple times that they do not support CN and they have not sent him a Mavic. Apparently he's supported by "third party" sources. He could've just bought one on ebay, who knows?

Casey has a history of crashing drones. No one is more familiar with this than he is. How do we know he did not order 2 more right at the event? Is everyone really assuming he ordered a new one last week, and DJI shipped him one out of favoritism, possibly for free? Kinda doubt it... But maybe DJI DID give him another, because they want him flying the Mavic instead of the Karma. If they did that, I would completely understand. Many people have ordered the Mavic because they saw him use it. One person here even admitted as much. There is no reason for anyone to be mad about him getting another Mavic, especially when we don't know the circumstances of how he obtained it. He does seem to have a lot of trust in it. Perhaps he already had the new firmware that was announced today, and knows of fixed issues. I have no idea. But I am not angry about it. There are much bigger things to worry about... i.e. Today's election.

He very specifically said he'd have to wait in line like everyone else because DJI told him no...  I'm betting he's one of many who paid a premium on eBay.

I hear ya.....it still made me mad initially...I'm still mad at DJI for not shipping my drone yet...I know I know. BUT Casey's night time footage is AMAZING. 5:00 mins into the video. The Mavic Pro in low light did VERY well. Remarkable for such a small sensor.

I was interested in purchasing the mavic before finding Casey's video but his video did push me over the edge to actually place the order.
