I flew my phantom 4 yesterday and it was 180m away from my position and it lost all connection, it then failed to return to the home position so I have now lost it.
I've flown it many of time before and way further than that and it always returns no probs. Has this happened to anyone else? Can I track my drone some how? It's a coincidence how the new firmware jst came out then this happens, is there anything dji can do?

Follow the instructions to upload your flight record from the Go app.

Come back and post a link to the report it provides and someone here will probably be able to analyse it and give you an understanding of the cause of the incident and maybe point you to the place to find it.

I'm very sorry to hear the loss of your drone.
You could follow Labroides's advice and sync your flight records from DJI GO app.
Then send an email to support.eu@dji.com with your DJI account email and the date this occurred.
They will help to analyze the flight records.
