I have a Phantom 2 Vision Plus controller does not have a gimbal control wheel, gimbal pitch is controlled in app only.The gimbal won't move up and down from the controls in the app. It stays about 45 degrees but the green tilt indicator in the app is all the way to the top.
The app also says the battery is dead even on a full charge.

There is a small kink in the ribbon cable on the gimbal could this be the reason?

That is most likely the cause. Just to clarify, did you notice this after a hard landing or long term storage?
