Hi,

It seems when my Mavic is placed on the ground, the yaw direction of the gimble is slowly paning in the yaw direction, anyone see this?

You mean tilting? Might be your surface is not level.

I dont think so, i am on my kitchen table which is pretty level. The gimble is moving left to right.

I havent even taken off or even touched any controls. It just goes by itself, almost like the ginble is still trying to initialize.

Have you tried to do the gimbal calibration?
Before the gimbal calibration, you could do the IMU calibration on a completely flat surface first.

I tried the IMU calibration and several gimble calibrarions all of which seem to yeild the same results. Would a compass calibration effect the gimble in anyway? Or just the IMU?

I've seen the same thing happening on my Mavic during warmup.  I thought perhaps it was because the IMU was still warming up.  It eventually settles down for me.  That being said, I do find that I have to calibrate my Gimbal every couple of power cycles.

Atleast Im not the only one! Do you find that regardless of the gimble pitch you align to before flight you still have to adjust it to the horizon mid flight as well?

I have seen it numerous times on mine, especially while flying. It's like a slow steady pan to either side usually left, as if the angle of the camera is steering the drone, so the drone does indeed fly to whatever side the camera is yawing. It also happens on the ground for me or just hovering

So far, no, I have not seen that.  Once I have adjusted the gimbal roll, it seems to stay put.
