Which one is would be better to start with for a first-time drone owner: A phantom 3 pro and buy a carrying case or a phantom 4?

They are both good, capable machines and easy to fly.

I'm sure many others may have a different view, but if money isn't an issue, I'd go for the P4 due to it's collision avoidance and better batteries. If money Is an issue, there's some great deals at the moment for the P3 Pro. Check out the Black Friday deal...

I have both, and the P4 is better in my opinion.
The video is a lot smoother, cause the gimbal is up in the body, a lot more steady!
Sport mode is fun also.

Hi. Agree with everything you say. But Sports mode - for a first time owner, I'd be playing it safe and keeping it in P-mode until I'm more expert on the sticks... ;-)

Thanks for the advice guys! But i had one more question about mobility. I want to use this drone when i travel and my question is, which one would be better to travel and carry on the go? Especially on a plane?

The "Phantom" are essentially the same size, aside from slightly longer landing skids on more recent models.
The Black Friday trample sales is an awesome suggestion, and if you are prepared to stand in long lineups, perhaps even get beatup, running for the same box, go for it.
Otherwise, suggest letting your fingers doing the walking, in the Yellow Pages/Online. Or from DJI directly, too
With much lower prices than when originally released, the Phantom 3 Pro, would be an awesome buy. Money left over, to buy a decent backpack, for your excursions.
The DJI hardshell backpack is sized for overhead compartments on most planes, and is extremely comfortable and light to wear.
Surprisingly, because when you look at it, seems so boxy and square, yet while wearing it, just so easy to forget that you even have it on. Ha

Hopefully you find a great deal, and will always enjoy your new drone, for many incredibly memorable video/flights.

Thanks RedHotPoker for that reply! Very detailed and i had the same idea about the backpack and buying the pro 3. as for the black friday sales, i was going to test my luck and buy online and pick up in stores. feel like thats my best bet

Why get trampled when DJI are offering the Black Friday prices on their online store? P4 Std $999 US, P3 Pro $799 US and P3 Std $399 US. That's half price on RRP for the latter... Sale starts 45 min from now...

You can never have enough or too many of those. Pricy for sure, buy if on sale, you may get a great buy on an extra one.
Hope you report back with how well you made off, like a true bandit! Ha

Yeah, that would be my best advice also. Buy your dreams online and bypass the frantic frenzy. Haha

I'm almost sorry that I'm not shopping for some crazy deals myself.

But then I slowly look around me, and come quickly to my senses. ;-)

No ... there was a small jump from the P3 to P4 and either is quite good.
But there is a much bigger jump from the P4 to P4 pro.
If the choice is between those, there's no contest.

I am selling my P4 with three batteries.....................$900.00

Can't talk about the P3P but I've had the P4 since April and am amazed at the technology. It's an incredible flying machine. The price is right, too. $999.00 black Friday.
