*Updated 12.02.16 - Originally was looking at the Inspire but have since decided to go with the Phatom 4 Pro. "Thanks" to all for the input.

In the time the shipments have been delayed, I started to think the Inspire 1 V2 better suits me. Yes, I know the new Inspire was just announced but I don't want to spend the extra cash on it. Anyone have an Inspire 1 V2 for sale at a good price? Please let me know.

Thanks.

I have a spare Inspire 1 V1 (not V2) that was recently repaired by DJI that I'd be willing to sell.

What exactly are you looking for? I have the Inspire 1 V2 X3 with 2 remotes and the options package that DJI is offering right now. Put your email address on the reply and I would let you know...

If your looking for a better camera the 20 mp 1 inch sensor on the new P4 pro is streets ahead of anything on inspire 1.
Along with a host of other goodies.

Yes, I have noticed. I wanted to see if anyone on the forums wanted to make a buck first. I may ultimately end up going the eBay route.

Thanks for that info. I've had 3 Phantom 3's and assumed footage from an Inspire (even with the base X3) would be better, but the P4P IS quite tempting. DJI gives me too many options! Jk.

Yeah that new camera on the P4P is amazing. I would probably go with that over an Inspire 1 at this point, plus form factor and parts cost...

More like selling you're sports car and buying an SUV.

I wanted the Mavic for its portability, but if I am buying only one model at this point, I can give up portability for other features I may want. I believe now though that the P4P might be the way to go. I did not realize its camera was that much better than that on the Inspire. To borrow another analogy from this thread, I might have initially wanted a sports car for its speed, but that doesn't mean I cannot also appreciate an SUV for the advantages it might have over a sports car. Hopefully, that makes sense.

Also, I didn't SELL a Mavic. I had placed an order for one and then cancelled after such a long delay. Instead of waiting longer, I opted to look at a different model altogether.

I like this analogy best, and that's kind of where my thoughts are.

I'm not sure if you have had an Inspire before, but can you think of any advantages the Inspire would still have over the P4P? Right now, I can't think of any but I haven't actually flown one myself.

I still have inspire x3, don't know why haven't used it much since I got p4 camera quality the same, have sold my p4 purchased p4p arriving today, my interest is in photography and p4p has that in bundles I really think it's as good as the new x4 on inspire 2.
Will be selling my inspire soon, as it's not being used.
My mavic arrived yesterday haven't seen it yet as I am away.
I don't think you will be disappointed in p4p. Good luck..

The original title of the thread is "Was waiting for the Mavic but now I want the P4P (Inspire?)", but this confuses me... It's apples to oranges to watermellons here.

The mavic is small, portable, consumer friendly.
The P4pro is still consumer, but bordering on pro, costs 50% more, has longer flight time and a better camera by far.
The inspire is more of a commercial drone. The are large, heavy, and 300% more expensive than the mavic (600% for the top end model), and is not something to learn on. This thing could actually kill people with it's 13" rotors.

The naivety of the original thread post leads me to believe that you should stick with the Mavic, or perhaps even get a $50 to learn on first. I just can't see how someone decides that they are going to get an Inspire so they don't have to wait for the Mavic. It's like saying... I ordered a new Prius, but it's taking too long to get here... Does anyone have a used Audi R8 that I can buy instead? Or should I just get an A4?

Start with the Mavic... It's a great drone and portable, and if you destroy it, you are only out $1000. If portability is not your primary concern, then a P4. Once you are completely proficient in that, then consider upgrading to the inspire.

For me, an inspire is really for professional, arial cinematography, and best left to advanced drone pilots. And even if one have the skills, one would still have to justify the need.

I learned on a Phantom, and purchased a P4 of my own. Now I want a Mavic. I would love to fly an inspire some time, but I just have no need to own one myself.

I don't get why it's so difficult for people to understand that I was looking at getting one thing and decided I wanted a totally different thing. Can you not shop for apples and decide, "I actually want oranges instead"? It's NOT that uncommon a phenomenon. If you had read the whole thread, you may have noticed that I have decided on the P4P, after getting some advice from others about the Inspire 1. So, in this case, the Prius was taking too long to get to me, and in the meantime I have decided to go with the Audi. It does not matter that they are not in the same class. That was not the point. I am sorry that you were confused by something so simple.

PS: I have owned 3 other DJI drones. I simply posted here to buy my next "upgrade" from someone else who might themself want the cash to also upgrade to a newer model.
