The original title of the thread is "Was waiting for the Mavic but now I want the P4P (Inspire?)", but this confuses me... It's apples to oranges to watermellons here.
The mavic is small, portable, consumer friendly.
The P4pro is still consumer, but bordering on pro, costs 50% more, has longer flight time and a better camera by far.
The inspire is more of a commercial drone. The are large, heavy, and 300% more expensive than the mavic (600% for the top end model), and is not something to learn on. This thing could actually kill people with it's 13" rotors.
The naivety of the original thread post leads me to believe that you should stick with the Mavic, or perhaps even get a $50 to learn on first. I just can't see how someone decides that they are going to get an Inspire so they don't have to wait for the Mavic. It's like saying... I ordered a new Prius, but it's taking too long to get here... Does anyone have a used Audi R8 that I can buy instead? Or should I just get an A4?
Start with the Mavic... It's a great drone and portable, and if you destroy it, you are only out $1000. If portability is not your primary concern, then a P4. Once you are completely proficient in that, then consider upgrading to the inspire.
For me, an inspire is really for professional, arial cinematography, and best left to advanced drone pilots. And even if one have the skills, one would still have to justify the need.
I learned on a Phantom, and purchased a P4 of my own. Now I want a Mavic. I would love to fly an inspire some time, but I just have no need to own one myself. |
