Anyone else use a felt marker to color the tips of their propellers? I've done this on the three quads I've owned so far. For one, I've always liked the reason and the aesthetic of contrasting prop tips on the old propeller airplanes, so it just made sense to me to have the contrast to make it a bit easier to see the outer edge of the prop clearance.

The other useful thing I've found with it is that it makes it very easy to tell which four props in the prop bag are the ones I'm currently using, since I haven't removed the plastic wrap from the hubs of the four spare props yet.

It's probably a silly thing, but I was just wondering if I was the only one doing this.

Oh no!  Adding more ink to balanced props can cause further imbalance   .

I only mark the underside of the hub to designate the rotor is to be used as a spare.

A what colour are you using? Sorry, but I can't see much of any difference.
Just a blur of a slightly different hue.
Must be my eyes... Haha

I used a red Sharpie, coloring the outer 1" of the prop blades. It does produce only a subtle effect when the props are spinning, but it's real obvious when removing the props from the bag.

Edit: This photo from yesterday shows the tip marking more clearly, since the drone was a bit lower.
