The Mavic batteries are programmed with intelligent self monitoring to regulate themselves. From the settings in the go app my batteries are programmed to discharge after 10 days if they have not been used. What constitutes "use" to trigger the discharge countdown to stop/reset. Also, if say a battery had been charged to 100% and two days later it's used to set the Mavic up for ten minutes and then shut down, does the 10 day count restart, or is the countdown taken from the last time it was charged, so giving it only 8 days left until discharging starts. And lastly, would checking the battery by pressing the on/off button once to check state of charge affect the discharge programming in the same way, if indeed that's how it works.

The battery will only discharge to 65% if unused for 10 days.   This is in the Mavic Manual on page 26.  In short, the battery will go to 65% in 4 days no matter what you do with it.

I know what's in the Mavic manual but it doesn't answer my question. Do you know if very light use resets the 10 day countdown? Not sure what you mean by "the battery will go down to 65% in 4 days",  but only discharge to 65% in 10days?
Thanks for the reply but I'm still not sure if the trigger to reset the battery discharge countdown comes from re-charging only rather than possibly extends the countdown with light use.

The battery will discharge to 65% if unused for 10 days - battery will go to 65% in 4 days no matter what

Which do you mean? These two statements are contradictory

It's the time from the last charge, if the level is above 60%

So, if you full charge a batt, then 8 days later fly for 5 min, taking the batt down to 75%, then turn off... 2 days later, the batt will discharge 15% to get down to 60%. Any time on the charger raising above 60% will reset the cycle.

This may not be 100% correct, but it's close.

I set my p4 batts at 5 days.

Many thanks dana5, what you posted is from 1st hand experience of the P4 and sounds likely that DJI would follow a similar system with the Mavic.

I believe if you press the power button the timer resets.

So just a single press of the battery power button to check the state of the battery will trigger the discharge countdown back to, in my case, 10 days?

It did with my P4, I can verify that next week.
You can test it by setting it to one day and once a day press the button and in a few days see if the battery is still full.

I did not know that... Interested for that behavior to be verified. Is that different than the P4 batteries?
