P4P (Not + )

My P4P (not +) arrived yesterday. Yet to make the first flight due to work schedules.

But I prepped it and added the HDMI module from the P3/P4 series. Pretty standard process.

The controller did a firmware upgrade just like the P4. Then the controller would not connect to the P4P. No video. I could move the camera pitch so I know it is talking to it. Double checked all the ribbon connections and they are ok.

Installed the stock module and it worked.

Reinstalled the HDMI module, left the cover off and it worked. As soon as you install the cover, which also has the HDMI jack built into it, the controller no longer works.

So I am back with the stock board.

My hunch is the controller software is confused with the HDMI which it thinks should be on the CrystalSky not the addin board.

I only have the P3A but had the same problem. I reinstalled the RC update and it worked after that....the HDMI  module has   to brought up to date with the latest firmware.Make sure your hooked up to the internet crank up the RC and open the DJI app on your andriod/IOS phone /tablet...should pop up with RC needs updating. You mite have to turn it on and off a few times but the message to update should pop up!! Hope this helps...Cheers mate!!

I'm wondering if there's an issue with your HDMI module, it should work.

No issue with the board.  On phantompilots.com two other people reporting the same issue.

So back to DJI, should work, but have you actually tested and confirmed it working?

I reported real world findings, not hypothetical.

Yes, it's already been tested. You did say you are fully updated on the RC/ aircraft correct?

I had fully updated at the time I installed the module.
I will try it again and report back with results.

Glad to see others are reporting success and it is not system wide.

OK I have confirmed I have a fully updated P4P.
I have tested two HDMI modules and both give the same results.
When the plastic cover with the HDMI port is off, the controller will link to the P4P. When the cover is put on and then turned on, the controller will not link to the P4P. Video is black and status is disconnected. But camera tilt and side to side work.

I have tried relinking the controller to the P4P with the cover on and it still fails.

Good news everyone. The 12/9 firmware update resolved the issue with the HDMI module on the P4P controller.

Guys who say their HDMI module is working ....  Please try and switch it off via using the App  HD page,,  green slider.. and tell me what happens !!
My findings are that if I switch it off via the App  it Doesnt switch off the HDMI feed but actually switches off the LIVE feed on my Tablet !!

Please confirm this guys.

The P4P RCs have been awaiting a firmware update to make the HDMI module compatible. It's been a hit, but mostly miss without it.

Yes, the RC firmware has to be updated after the HDMI module installation.
