The USB 2.0/3.0 (not the micro-USB) is just for storage.  I plugged-in a Galaxy S5 (with DJI GO 4 on it) and the R/C read it like a USB drive.  The R/C auto-switched to "Gallery" and it took a minute with a spinning disk, but all the media on the phone populated on the P4P+ screen.  Cool.

The micro-SD is READ-ONLY and can only be accessed thru the Gallery/Media as I see it.  Basically the same as the USB then.

The micro-USB is for updating.  Haven't had to use this yet.

The HDMI OUT outputs up to 1080p/60.  That's right, the built-in screen P4P+ model's HDMI port can output 1080p/60.  There's a selection to change this to whatever you want (1080/30, 1080/24, 720/60, etc.); given your TV supports said resolutions/framerates.  

The entire "port module" is also a fan.  There are several vents on all sides, so if you set this in your lap you 'might' impede the airflow.

I haven't tried this yet.  But won't the MicroSD card also serve as storage for local recorded streamed video while you are also recording on the drones MicroSD?

You'd think so, right?  Sadly no.  Check "System Settings" and see "Storage."  There you will see that the SD card NEVER changes available space.

BTW, what's your P4P battery say for maximum capacity?  Mine said 5892 when I got it, and now 5890 since I've flown it/charged a few times.  SO MY P4P battery is GREATER THAN the 5870 advertised!  VERY cool!  lol

OMG dude, YES!  It's the PERFECT screen (well it could be bigger) for THIS APPLICATION.

It's extremely matte, so it soaks up all the reflections - all you see is screen, not yourself & clouds behind you.

It's also super bright AND CLEAR.  The clarity is astounding, even though it's a little small.  I can see the Phantom 5 having a larger built-in screen.  

There's also 1 more trick DJI had - SRE.  There's this toggle called SRE in the drop-down notification panel (Android style).  When you tap this, the screen gets EVEN BRIGHTER, lol.  But some of the accuracy is lost and some stuff looks slightly blown out.  So it's a toggle for desperate direct, bright sunlight moments.

OH, and the latency...  THERE IS NONE (well it feels like it).

It feels like no latency even at distance!  So this isn't just right up by me, this is far away, too!  It INSTANTLY responds to my commands.

Yes indeed the screen is extremely bright out in direct sunlight.
I could not believe how well I could see the screen when I had my back to the sun and the sun directly in the screen.

Just used the HDMI out again.  I was getting no tapping sounds or voice prompts from the R/C like usual.  I then realized the TV volume was turned way down.  Turned it up & THERE WAS THE SOUND!  Cool, so the HDMI out on the P4P+ GL300E R/C also OUTPUTS AUDIO (didn't test OR CARE if it was stereo or mono).

Is there an obvious way that monitor/arm combo can come off to upgrade to the Crystalsky monitors when they become available? I'd like to purchase the P4P+, but don't want to have to replace the controller et. all just to upgrade to the larger Cystalsky when it hits the streets.

No.  It looks like it is bezeled into the R/C a little.  It'd look like garbage if you ripped that off.  

Just get a GL300F later-on.  There's always eBay for your GL300E (the built-in screen).

Yep, I believe they are all about 6000mAh batteries.  This is why it is easy getting the 30 minutes.

Be sure to connect to an HDMI device capable of 1080p/60 -or- be sure to have your resolution (on your device/TV) set to NATIVE, if possible.

I had 1080p/60 on several televisions with different technologies.

That is good and I suppose to be expected with HDMI, but is it optional?

If you are using the HDMI out to go to a monitor or to feed other recording or retransmission equipment it is going to be a bit annoying to lose your audio feedback from the controller...
