DJI you rock seriously, i tested my P4Pro and i got a Range of very close to 6.0 Kilometers!!! On the Specs page it says max. is 3.5 KM CE Mode (Europe)

So i don't know why people in the US (FCC) say they only reach like 1 Mile, possibly due to their own stupidity (my guess).

When i reached 3.5 KM i thought to myself, well this is it (Damn Europe limitations), i bet i'll lose connection now to the RC to and Video Transmission, but boy was i wrong, i had FULL Bars on both of them.

My height while testing was 320Meters or 1049 ft.

Very happy right now

"So i don't know why people in the US (FCC) say they only reach like 1 Mile, possibly due to their own stupidity (my guess)."

They can't do much of anything while hiding in their safe space demanding that everything work the way they think it should while mommy and daddy pay for it all.

Jumps off soap box.

That's good news Ange1walk.   DJI continues to make it better and better, with little slip ups along the way.  Whats it going to be like in 10 years?

Yeah, if they expect to sit in their backyard and reach 7KM they are totally wrong, it's currently 2°C here and with a pretty strong and cold wind, but because i've read the nonsense yesterday about folks not reaching 1 Mile i thought i'd make my own test and was surprised alot.

Folks also need to understand Antenna Orientation on their RC, when i see some Youtube videos i'm Facepalming so hard.

But glad i could provide good news Hopefully in the next week i can make some videos and show you guys.

No we are not stupid here in America. The reason you got 6k was because you went over a thousand feet in altitude. Obviously you are not aware the FAA here does not allow us to go over 400 feet in altitude. I'm sure you probably have some height restrictions too, but blatantly disregard them.

You should read my sentence again, i never said people in the US are stupid, there are intellegent and stupid people everywhere in the world, i just said those CLAIMING not getting over 1 Mile, can't blame anyone, but themselves.

And yes we do have a limit of 150Meters, if you want to go higher you contact local ATC and if Airspace isn't tight at that time and they approve, you have no problems. So no, i don't disregard rules blatantly.

I left it on Default, so the RC could choose what it's best.
But if i recall correctly, 2.4 Ghz worked much better.

I wish I could compare range results with you but I can't because my brand new p4 pro is grounded because of a common IMU error -22 message!

It's easily fixed (or for me it was) i had the IMU -22 error.

What you need to do:

Put the P4P in a cold place ( if possible NOT in a Refrigirator ) for 30 Mins - 1 Hour.

Immediately do the IMU Calib. after starting up.

The most important step while Calibrating is to wait quite a while even when the Pictures changes on your Screen i'm talking about 20 seconds or so.

Also, there is a step where you need to put your P4P from the front pisition to the back position, now DON'T Rotate it from left to Right like 99% of Youtubers did, just put it straight on it's back!

And tada, never gotten it again!

After the election, it's going to be hard to convince the rest of the world about that.

And  .. being over 1000 feet in altitude doesn't automatically give longer range.
It does mean that you lose battery time because of the time needed to climb and descent and if you go high enough that the air thins, your motors have to work harder to maintain lift.

I have lots off trees behind my house, when I flew at an altitude of about 200 feet I could get about 1000 feet, when I flew at 400 feet I was able to get over 2000 feet. So I would say yeah altitude does make a big difference.

Flying at 1000' AGL is a breeze, I climb 1000' feet in the rocky mountains often (less than 200'AGL) and my P4 does fine, maybe 2min less flight times at 13,000 MSL.

Regarding the intelligence question, didn't the Aussies let your government take away your guns?  Hmm, too bad.

That's got nothing to do with the altitude you flew at.
It's entirely due to losing signal because of trees blocking your line of sight.

Over the ocean I can go about a mile with my p4 at 50'MSL before it starts to drops video.  At 250'MSL I can go 2mi.  At 350MSL I can go 3mi.  Altitude does help distance, that's a fact.

It doesn't take a lot of intellect to work out that the lower you fly in that location, the more trees your signal has to penetrate.
Trees are full of water and water attenuates the radio signal.
Why is that a mystery to you?

Everyone.. Please let's all get along here! We all love flying, and we all want to learn more about our hobby. There's no reason to be mean to each other! Everyone's geographic location has different background levels of interference no matter where we are, and there are different rules all over the world as to how you can fly and how much power your transmitters and receivers can have. We all have different cultures, and we all have different values.. None of this makes any of us bad people! I would love to fly with any one of you guys and I think we all should relax! That's what this hobby or business is about.. Doing something that is fun!! I love my Phantom 4 - and I love these forums, but we shouldn't talk to each other like this.. It serves no purpose.. I am not trolling - I just want you guys to be nice to each other! We don't know what it is like walking in each others shoes and we REALLY shouldn't take things on here personal. I did in a previous post and it really was a misunderstanding. Remember, with text you cannot hear a persons emotions and things can be interpreted in so many different ways.

Its not a mystery. My point is it has nothing to do with line of sight as you claimed....I'm about 10-15 feet away from the trees when I take off. As soon as I get over the first few trees I already lost my line of sight. When I fly higher its still penetrating the trees the same as if I fly barely over the tree tops. Therefore higher altitude=better range, doesn't take much intellect to understand that.
