Anyone else having issues with the app.

I have an iPhone 6 and had a 100 percent battery.
Within five min of flight I was down to 1 percent battery and upon removing the phone from the RC I had to reset to get an accurate battery percentage of 80

Happens again upon connecting and taking off.
Battery warning and then down to 60 percent.

Is this an issue with my phone or power draw on the app/ RC?

Can't fly confidently if my phone battery will fluctuate like this.

Hmm.  That's odd!  I was out flying today with a phone that started at around +40% battery using the DJI GO (not the 4) and within about 15 minutes, I got a warning message saying the phone had dropped to 10% charge.  I landed, disconnected and the phone showed +20% charge (I think, 24%).  I'd just downloaded DJI GO 4 in hopes that this would remove a future issue of this kind, so your experience isn't promising.

Had the same issue with DJI Go 4.0 and iPhone 6. 100% battery and dropped to nothing (phone shuts down) in about 20 minutes of flying.

Me too. iPhone 6s Plus. Using DJI go 4 app I had a strange battery drop. About 20% and over in five minutes.

Me too, major power drain, Iphone 6 dropped to 1% yesterday. Completely shut off today.  In fairness I should add that it was close to freezing outside and Iphone 6's do this in the cold...

I was'nt sure what was going to happen, but the remote still worked and I was able to land.  Only my second day with the Mavic, so I am proceeding very cautiously.  I'm not very experienced and still get very nervous when it is up in the air.  Have to keep reminding my self that's what it is for!

Some issues with the iPhone 6 and 6s batteries have come to light recently so that would definitely exacerbate the problem, but the Go App 4 is definitely consuming too much power doing unnecessary processing of some sort. Its really just a video readout with some controls so it shouldn't drain the phones like this.

It doesn't have to do with it. I'm sure. I have my iPhone 6s repaired from apple recall and DJI go drain his battery as it does with my iPhone 6s Plus or my wife iPhone 6. There are some bugs around mavic.

I've noticed issues recently of my battery running down really fast and I'm on Android. I fly around and everything is good, shut off the Mavic and go about my day. A couple hours later and my battery is close to dead but I haven't done anything else with it, check the battery usage and DJI GO 4 is the second highest next to the screen. The issue is that it shows its been running for a couple hours but I only had it with the drone for 10 minutes. This has happened to me for the 2 times I have used the new app and now I think I have to go in and force close it everytime or it will continue to run and kill my battery. This never happened with the regular DJI GO app.

Some issues with the iPhone 6 and 6s batteries have come to light recently so I'm sure that has some ...

so spoke with apple care and got some answers. my phone or battery is not in issue for a replacement as this affects batches from 09/2015-present. i got mine before that.

Whats the weather like???
Colder climates with bright screens = less juice. You will get massive voltage spikes. Since the phone battery meter reports based on voltage, it may estimate an incorrect percentage.
Test watch a 20 minute video outdoor and see how the battery holds.

Is this problem just down to iPhone 6, I had a 20 minute flight today and used 12 percent of my phone battery on my iPhone SE. I was told my SE might get some video lag so I was going to get my wife's iPhone 6 but not had any problems at all. I think I'll keep the SE for now.

Seems to be a lot of issues with iPhone 6 and Go 4. Android seems to be fine.

I just flew my Mavic for the first time and lost about 25 percent phone battery on one flight. The go 4 app crashed on me though on the second battery but I was flying  LOS and restarted it and had no problem.
I have a LG V20 android phone

Hi All,

Blue sky and no wind yesterday in Paris, try 3 batteries with the new DJI Go app 4.0 on the iPhone 7 Plus with my Mavic, summary :
- better and smooth video (less lag)
- no more video streaming lost
- no more remote link lost
- iPhone 7 Plus battery was good after 3 batteries, around 80%

Very happy.

Hey moof
Thank you for commenting, I have the iPhone 7 and would like to try the new Go App 4.0. Do you know if both the Go App 3.1 and Go App 4.0 can be installed at the same time  or coexist on the iPhone? I know that you cannot run them at the same time, but wanted to keep the older 3.1 until all of the bugs are worked out.

Thanks
Rich

I was just out flying and it happened again.  I started at about 60% and within about 20 minutes the battery was giving me the 20, then 10% charge warning.  I got it low and flew for a few minutes more and when I took the iPhone off the RC, it was reading "12% charge remaining."

No problems on android, just flew 2 batteries (so let's say 2 x 20 minutes) with DJI GO 4 and phone (S7 edge) went from 82% to 68% with brightness on about 80%.
Very happy so far with the Go 4 app.

Do you notice that the GO 4 app is still running and eating up battery after your done flying? I have the Note 5 and its doing that to me, I have to force close it everytime I'm done using the app.

Hi Rich,

Sorry i miss your post, yesterday at the beginning i got both with no problem.
But now i got only DJI GO 4 because it's working really well and far better than previous app.
I got only a Mavic Pro now, no legacy stuff !

Hi Moof

Not a problem, DJI Ken told me that both would work okay too. I have both Go Apps loaded and did some tests. I could not tell much difference regarding battery drain. Everything is working great for me and will start using the Go App 4.02 for my Mavic and P4  while keeping the old App for my Inspire 1

I found the same battery drain using the Autoflight Logic Autopilot today - Waypoint mission. iPhone 5 s . Yes I know the phone is old - but it has a normal battery life in general.

Android here  both Motorola play x (small mod to get it too fit)  and Chuwi Vi8 ( has to go in external holder) both show the faster rate of battery drain,  during and after flights, i thought i had forgot to charge it, and the Motorola went completely flat and switched off ! some 15 mins after finishing a 15 min flight, it  was just holding its own while on charge and didnt make it to 100%  and the Chuwi took ages to charge,  so i went through both of them and killed every app i could see then power cycled it too,  it seems a little better now, but i know as soon as i hook up my rc controller again its gonna do the same,  not really sure whats going on to consume that much power !  so its not just Apple devices,    should  say i am using Go4.

Not that this helps much, but I'm using an Android (Droid Maxx 2) and I have not noticed any hyper drain on it at all.  I've used up all three Mavic batteries with the same phone charge and still had well over 50% remaining on the phone when done.  Hope you get it figured out!

Add me to the list.

I think the phone may be charging my Mavic controller, as I only lose about 10% of controller battery per flight but I'll lose around 30-50% iPhone 6s battery per flight.
