Silly me. I ordered the PGY and then found out this was released.
5 day turn around in AUS ebay too.
GoshDarnIt.

The Taco's are the lightest compared to Polar and PGY. I wonder how good the optic glass is...

Simple testing results:

Weight: 0.7g
http://cdn3.bigcommerce.com/s-ay ... 00595.1280.1280.jpg

Per testing with a color temperature meter, the color shift is less than 100K difference and the EV stop value is accurate for each filter :

Before testing, the meter read:
LX: 1589 = EV: 9
http://cdn3.bigcommerce.com/s-ay ... 5.1280.1280.jpg

ND4 reading:
LX: 397.8 = EV: 7

ND8 reading:
LX: 192.4 = EV: 6

Do you have any feedback on the image quality with these filters? I'm considering ordering their multicoated set.

so these are light enough to install before powering up and don't cause a gimbal error on initialization?

Wondering too about any colour shift and especially colour-vignette. Tried another brand and all the PL filters had different colour around the edges of the image (green shift)

Those don't appear to be multi-coated (MC). Plus, with shipping they're more expensive than the Tacos unless you're willing to wait a month or more.

Ordered my Taco RC multi coated filters recently on Amazon. I was a little hesitant due to the lack of user ratings in the UK but they arrived fairly quickly and seem to be what was advertised.

I haven't had chance to try them yet so I can't give a review on quality.

The way i install the ND filter is to use gimbal holder rather than holding it with fingers...then just push the filter on and take out the gimbal holder ...

The Taco filters? No, they won't -- just be careful when applying and removing them.

Not that I'm aware of. I've heard good things about the Polars but they're apparently even more snug than the Tacos so putting them on and taking them off can be tricky. Polar Pro does provide excellent support if you do have problems or complaints with their products, though.

I use the filter set ND 4 - ND 32 regularily and i think they work great. Image quality is fine imho, but I am no expert.

What I can say is:
- installation is a bit tricky, but that's more a "moving Mavic camera" issue. Get some cleaning material aswell to get rid of your finger prints ;-)
- camera calibration & movement is no problem.
- case is nice. provides good cover and is therefore in the front of my Mavic shoulder bag. Filters are well fixed inside.
- Manual: Short info on when to use which filter

For me they are a fine choice.

I have a set of Taco ND filters. I believe the quality is well made, as I have nothing to compare it to - i.e. Polar. It's easy to install/take off. Considering it's small that alone can present a small challenge. I leave the gimbal back plate on during installation/removal. It comes with a nice case. I'm not a video expert but I do believe the picture quality has improved with these filters now that I am able to shoot with slower shutter speeds.

Likewise I got a set of Taco-RC multi-coated ND filters.  Arrived pretty quickly, easy to fit and remove, even in the field and seem to do what I expected and at a reasonable price.  In my opinion ND filters are a must have accessory with a fixed focal length camera.

Taco does sell 2 different type of filters.
One type does mention multiple layer coating and the other one does not mention this.. and the price is different.
Would like to find out if the one without multiple layers is a Single layer coating or none coating, what is de practical difference, cannot find a YouTube example.
What type do you have and how do you know.. is there a physical difference besides the purchase price?

I have the MC filters. I honestly do not know the difference. However, the price difference is very minimal (~$3 US) so why not go with the MC ones. Just my two cents.

"Anyway it seems sold out at Taco- RC  for the 4-pack"

I noticed a while back that the 4-pack goes in and out of stock. If you don't want to pay for the 5- or 6-pack then just keep checking for the 4-pack once in a while and you'll eventually find it in stock.

Amazon. But yes, I purchased the 5-pack (see link below). The small difference was referring to a 6-pack (non MC). However, I did find a 5-pack non MC for about $10 less.

The Amazon prices are slightly higher than if you buy directly from Taco-RC. For example, the MC 5-pack you linked to is $75.99 on Amazon but only $72.99 if purchased directly.

ah okay, because the non MC 5 pack on amazon is 62.99 so I guess $13 difference if we are comparing apples to apples.
