Please excuse what might be a stupid question but what exactly is the HDMI module used for?  I just sold my P3Pro and am awaiting my new P4Pro+

If you have ordered P4P+ then it comes with HDMI from factory, else, you need to buy separate module and install it by yourself. With HDMI you can use another device with HDMI in as monitor or use FPV Googles like Fat Shark.

How do we update the Pro+ controller? The download isn't available for microSD.

It is but today firmware is for bird only not P4P+ RC.
For P4P+ RC it's the old one and you can find it here:

Just tested time stamp are corrected

LOL I updated this firmware through DJI assistant (P4P), and now the camera is completely black I get no video at all.  Restarted AC and RC...nothing.  Going to have to roll back unless I'm missing a step somewhere?

Solved it, had to restart the iPad.

When upgrading the batteries on P4P+, will they work normally if used with P4?

Yes they will... I used them on both P4, P4P AND P4P+

No gimbal flipping in the air while flying to the righr against some wind fix? Im sad seriously. Hopefuly they fix my drone at the repairs...

I am sort of hesitant to update my AC since I'm not having any issues with it. The note about "Optimizing auto focus" interests me though. How is it optimized? Does it focus faster or use a larger focus area to calculate the focal point?

be shure you have not the gimbal fixed by the gimbal glamp during updating !!!

For those holding back, I just updated to Jan 2017 release FW without issue. Good to test this weekend.

OK Update done all went smoothly, My gripe is with the HDMI module i have installed, It gets pretty warm, not sure thats a good sign, but the main problem as I have said before in previous posts is
when you go into the GOAPP 4 and to the HD page and try to disable the HDMI feed !!   it disables your video feed on your Tablet !!  and not the separate HDMI screen. The OSD on / off works fine.
Come on DJI please add this fix to the next firmware update. Oh and try to preview photos or video, not working via the HDMI at all ..

I'm giving up on my Pro+ controller. Adorama has the Pro- controller in stock. Ordered it overnight!

The question is: why DJI adopts a RC with display and Android OS, then they don't work on it fixing troubles and making it better than the iOS solution?

Sounds counterproductive. The only advantages should be a faster setup ready to fly and more brightness, but at least some more SW (at least their GCS Pro installed as default) and a great reliability should be the starting point.

I'm still a rookie at dealing with the habits of DJI.

There isn't an update for the Pro+ controller, it already had the update that the Pro controller is getting.

After 70 minutes waiting on hold,I finally got the with the DJI rep , (who could barely speak or understand English) I got out of her that they are working on a fix, and no time frame!

How did you update it?  I got the file,  now what?

Just heard from B&H, They are NOT going to honor returns on the P4Pro+, !!!! They refereed me their supplier, who is going to call tomorrow and and try and help  DO NOT ORDER FROM B&H~!!

What is the reason they won't do a refund? On their website it states that they have a 30 day return policy. What is wrong with your P4P+?

Android is open source so they can actually use it, iOS is Apples and Apple is the only company that can use it, that's why they went with Android.

GS Pro wasn't out when they released the P4P+ which is why it didn't come with it pre-installed. They have said that it will be getting it so we just have to wait for the update and hopefully it's on the first one they do. When that update will come is anyone's guess but that falls right in line with how DJI has been and we won't know until it's released. None of the mods here know, none of the CS people know. I bet the software people don't even know.

I suppose it's better to not give a date so that can't fail to meet it because they aren't really good at hitting any dates they ever announced.

I updated yesterday. IMU seemed good, but had some settings reset on me.

For Info.... Received my replacement P4P this morning. Updated the Firmware through the Go 4 App this time.... reached 99% and sat there for 10 mins... done a quick search and found this to be a frequent issue, rebooted everything and it stated completed succesfully and all is well.

If this update is for only the aircraft. If i have the p4p+ am i ok to just upgrade the aircraft?

Yes, P4P+ update is for the aircraft only.

Not sure about the standard batteries but If you have any additional P4 High capacity batteries these will need firmware updating as well otherwise you will receive the message "incompatible firmware" if you try using a non updated battery in an updated craft.

after new FW update I am still getting high wind warnings in calm air. This was repeatedly mentioned and we were assured it would be fixed in next FW release but this bug still exists...donnie

Oh. I suppose people can say they are no satisfied with the product and maybe the store would issue a refund but maybe not. I think what has been happening is some people buy a product, use it and return it over and over again like the store is a free rental company :-)

Not the reason. They have so many issues with DJI, that they had to start a special division to handle the issues.  I asked them ..they just don't drop carrying their products...their answer..'they're thinking about it"  Too many returns for 'chinese quality control" problems!
