I have two TB 47s.  They have 12 and 13 cycles on them. I noticed the other day that when i went into the battery health screen of the DJI app, the "Total capacity" was 4302 MaH instead of the 4500 that it's rated to have. On my other TB 47, the Total capacity says 4205 instead of the 4500 it should say.   To be clear, I am referring to the total capacity section, not the battery life remaining that goes up and down as it's charged and discharged.

I read online other people saying that a fix for this was to discharge the battery down to below 5 % and then charge it fully.  I did this and still it says the same. Total capacity 200 - 300 MaH lower than 4500.

I thought maybe if I updated my Inspire's firmware, it might make a difference. Updated everything to the lated, repeated the battery drain and charge and still the same result.

If I had just 1 TB47 exhibiting this problem , it might be easy to chalk it up to a faulty or damaged battery- But 2? I never noticed it before so I'm not entirely sure if it's always been under the 4500 MaH since I've owned it.

I also have a tb48, it has 26 hours on it..  It's total capacity reads the correct 5700 MaH it's rated at.

Does anyone have any helpful advice on this?

Thanks in advanced
Mike

I am not sure I can help explain this issue, but I have been watching this for some time. I have a TB 47 battery that is showing about 4080 maH now with about 47 charge cycles on it. I have some screen shots showing this battery since April 2016. Each one of my Inspire 1 batteries is reduced in total capacity  from stated 4500 maH rating.  I believe that as the battery is used over time and the life of the battery. The DJI intelligent circuitry drops the value  based on the battery condition. After it reaches a point -5-8% of the capacity (which I cannot find in the DJI instructions) the battery should be no longer used.

Maybe DJI Ken could comment on this for us also?

The TB47's may work a little harder than the 48's so you may see less milliamps with them.
If they show a much larger difference then you can contact support and send them in for evaluation.

See above post.
Also, yes when the battery can no longer sustain flight for any amount of time then the battery should be properly disposed of.

Thanks Ken

I was wondering if you have a cut-off point that you would not trust the battery. I will deep cycle this battery again but it is getting pretty close to falling below 4000 maH now

I would just keep flying it until it will only fly for a few minutes or the cell deviation starts getting larger.

Okay, got it Ken.

Have you managed to get any of your Inspire 1 packs over 100 flights?

I with I had but I was flying the P4 much more then the Inspire.
I now have the Mavic and I'm pretty sure I'll be getting tons of flights on it.
The Inspire is setup for dual operator but with the X3, and the Mavic will fit in my jacket pocket so I think I'll be using that more.
I will be flying the Inspire tomorrow evening

Yah, I get it... the little Mavic is easy and it just works well.  I still like my Inspire, but its been to cold to fly and now with rain and snow.... Its winter here, not like you guys down in SO CAL

Ya, I really do love the Inspire (even with the X3).
The portability of the Mavic and the amount of riding I do, I just think the will get more use.
