It does make it easier to "document" the results by just having them all just hang there in front of the camera.  And I suppose that would be a useful test if you're just going to be hovering over one spot.  

What might be more of a real world test is to have them all fly a predetermined course.  Perhaps in an indoor arena to make it easier to film.  Maybe with the operator's display in the corner of the frame.
