I wanted to get a reveal shot of the full moon and city but the clouds were shadowing the moon. It was dark and the video needs lots of editing.
I will do it again on a clear night and also be moving forward towards the peak for a more dramatic look.It was windy out too so the aircraft was bobbling around pretty good.

I must say that's pretty cool.....nice one Ken :-)

Yes it was like an opening to a Spielberg movie ......if it was a clear night and captured the full moon it would have been the shot :-)

It is a beautiful place. Right behind where I was is Old Tucson Studios where a bunch of famous movies have been filmed there.
Maybe I should have done a 360 pan, the desert valley is really pretty.

How difficult was it to obtain the required FAA waiver for night flying? Where can I buy the FAA approved, FAA required anti-collison lights visible at (3) miles?Or, as an official DJI representitive, are you exempt from USA Federal law? I did not see the lights; did I miss that?

Nice .....I be been to Arizona once when we walked acros the Hoover Dam which would have also have been a great place to have a drone.....if your allowed that is!

And I have a Commercial, CFI, CFII, Advanced & Instrument Ground Instructor, with Complex, for over 30 years.  Oh, I forgot the SUAS Part 107. Been flying RC helicopters for 20+ years too.
So, you failed to answer my questions. Or rather you intentionally avoided them. Night waiver? Lights?
Or, are you as on official DJI representative allowed to break the forum rules (Section 2 -Item 4) ; Discussion of illegal activities?

Exactly, that's the point,
We've all seen when you forget to turn off the front LEDS's and you get the red glare.
When recording with the Mavic, the front LED's automatically go out when you hit record or the shutter button.

Please link to the law DJI-Ken broke.  There have been a few discussions about flying drones at night, so I'd love to finally see the law.

I live in California but am here temporary helping my parents with some medical issues.

Very nice shot! Sometime soon, I want to try doing a long exposure shot with my P3 4K. I live close to NYC and it would look amazing from the drone!

No need for waivers or lights or anything else. This was not a commercial flight, and it is not illegal to fly at night.

Below list the rule for COMMERCIAL operations, which I wasn't doing. I do have anti-collision lights though.

Part 107 (14 CFR § 107.1 et. seq.) (which you must follow during commercial operation) provides in Section 107.29(b):

(b) No person may operate a small unmanned aircraft system during periods of civil twilight unless the small unmanned aircraft has lighted anti-collision lighting visible for at least 3 statute miles.
