After the latest Firmware / GO 4 updates, the Mavic now often struggles to focus and gets traped in a loop; in > out > in > out > shake it all about.

It's really annoying. We need a switch to set the camera focus to infinity permentantly is so desired.

Surely this is fairly straightforward to impliment. Pretty please.

Hello jaybee, the latest DJI GO 4 app had added continuous autofocus.
Do you mean the C-AF not working?
Could you please make a short video of this issue?

I know, continuous autofocus is terrible. I'd rather just flick a switch and have it permanently infinite. Sure, I'll get a video together shortly.

WOW.  Have not flown with the new update.  Is this what I have to look forward to?  IN the interim, seems like you should set to manual focus, and focus once on "infinity."

You can manually focus by tapping - as before- but you cannot switch this auto thing off.
EDIT: My mistake ... you can, just found the setting.

Where is this setting in djoGo4 for android?

Agreed.  I know that with this lens, the depth of field is more shallow, so there are cases where your subject/foreground would be in focus while the background is out of focus, but at some subject distance, everything would be in focus.  I'm not sure how to calculate this, but its fairly easy to do this.  Just have a setting where the camera automatically focuses to this subject distance which means that everything past this point is also in focus.  This is the hyperfocal distance.

With a 1/2.3" sensor I think focusing on a subject 10 meters far away give you infinity.

Yes, I would think so as well, so the whole idea behind focusing when flying up high is crazy.  The most important addition to the focus would be simply an infinity focus option.  Then we wouldn't have to worry about focusing, and seeing the focus hunting in the videos because we are wanting to make sure our footage isn't sharp when we get back.

You can enable the manual focusing in general settings.

Is there any problem when enable the manual focusing?
Focus issue only happened in continuous autofocus?

Is this available in the iOS version of Go4? Can't find anywhere to go to manual focus.
Totally agree with the OP. On the older versions of the app I would take off to 3 pr 4 m, set focus on a distant object , and not touch it again for the rest of the flight. Worked fine. I REALLY don't want C-AF!

Manual focus is found in general settings. I posted the iOS screen shots for the gimbal as well

do you have your gimbal cover on in this video? I ask this because I see a refection in the middle toward the end of the video that makes me wonder if you did have it on if it was picking up some glare and causing it to continuously refocus.....
