Is there a cable to connect a Samsung Note 3 phone to the controler for the Mavis?

The standard micro Usb cable will fit on the Note 3.

Yup, tried a Note 3 and worked.
It showed a huge lag in the LiveView, could you confirm ? I am normally using an S7 EDGE which is perfect.
If yours does not have a big lag then maybe i should go back from Cyanogenmod Android to stock again, so iam curious to hear from you :-)

Im using my Note (4) Edge with no issues. It's only abot tight in the holder. I am using a Samsung wireless charging cover though.

I've  been using my old Note 3 over my S7 Edge as the Edge seems to have more issues with the app connecting and other things.  The Note 3 has been pretty good so far.  Granted, it is unactivated, recently factory reset and in airplane mode when I fly.  It's basically a dedicated flight screen now.
