I've recorded hundreds of videos with my P4 in mp4 format and played them on my iPad but today I just tried to play a couple that I imported off my card to my iPad and it pops up a message saying the format isn't compatible. They play just fine on my win7 puter and even show up with all the rest of the videos and pictures as preview on the iPad. I haven't updated anything or changed any settings. Anyone else ever have this problem?

Same here, Phantom 3 Pro' and iPad Air2 Cellular.
Probably the fact your iPad can't play or render 4K video... ;-)
There are video file converters that will make your video compatible.

You know now that you mention that I do remember bumping up the FPS the other day in an attempt to smooth out my pans. I bet that's it. Thanks much.

I can't promise or gaurantee it will correct the error, but if you try, and it works, please report back with your results.

Yep, dropped it back down to 30 FPS and it plays fine. I guess the Air can't handle it even though I was still at 1080.

Jumping up the FPS is the same as increasing resolution as far as processing is concerned, it's more data that the device is trying to process.

Sure thing, no problem. But it makes sense, yes? Haha

These are, after all, our hobby grade drones, so what ever works.
I just download my videos from the micro sd card to my hp Envy Phoenix tower, and reformat the card in drone.

I apparently bought the Apple lighting to camera sd card reader, adapter cord, to store in my flight kit. Never gets used.
