Went out and did some blasting around the sky in Sports mode.......what an absolute joy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DJI - your developers are bloody amazing!  Wind got really strong after takeoff but was never a moment where I thought the Mavic could not handle it. The RTH and landing was exceptional considering the wind strength

In the grassland, I suggest you install a landing gear...

Next time, put the gimbal in "FPV" mode and record your hot-ridding.  Then you can mix in some Mavic video with your hand-held video.  FPV makes the camera tilt when banking, but stabilizes otherwise.

Very cool.  I haven't had the guts to try sports mode yet.  You're making me want to accelerate my timetable.

On a tangential note, what mode do you set your remote to?  Mode2 or something else?

When you do try it for the first time, doit is a large wide open area.
And make sure to be higher than the tallest structure (like the light poles).
I've see a few Mavics flown in large fields like the OP posted only to see it smack right into the light pole.

Being a retired commercial pilot Mode 2 is the most natural mode for me

nice show... and camera view?

Wasn't concerned about filming - just wanted to concentrate on the flying without being distracted in any way. Next time.................

Racing around in Sports Mode doesn't make for good video.

Yeah, but I have seen some really nice FPV stuff that looks way better when you view the video after, because the goggles are really bad resolution.

I'm sure a lot looks like jelly if its at 30FPS

It looks fine in Sport Mode as long as you make mellow wide turns. But most who fly in Sport Mode are not slow on the sticks.
