Hello all, hoping somebody can set my mind at ease on my gimbal.

Picture 1:  Should my ribbon be that visible inside there as shown?
Picture 2:  Should the silver "wires" be that visible?  Is that normal on everybody's?

Ignore the two questions.  I just played with the gimbal a little bit and noticed how the ribbon moved around and wrapped itself around it upon certain movements.  That looks normal.  My next question is regarding the little latch in the middle just in front of the vent.  Is there also supposed to be one on the front side?  I only have the latch by the vent.  My front looks scuffed in a spot that it looks like the latch may have been.  Just not sure if there's only 1.
