Hello guys, today i received 2 phantom 4 batteries that i ordered from a local store in Portugal. After putting them on the phantom it opened a message for updating the batteries wich i closed and launched the drone. Has the drone is in the air i notice it is very weird and not behaving like it should, so i put the drone down and inspected the battery.
After looking at it for a while i noticed the batery was kind of loose in the drone, and that the LEDs on the front of the battery created a cloudy tipe light has the pictures below show.( The battery on the right hand side is the stock battery, the others on the left were the ones that i ordered wich i think are fake)

( video for the loose batery)
So i did a litle search and found that i really needed to update the batteries, so i did, and this is what i got... ( btw there was no progress bar during the update, nor a "complete" message in the end )

So after reading this post, ( http://forum.dji.com/thread-62408-1-1.html ) i realysed it was possible to check if the batteryes are fake or not, so on the link below are my batery codes, could someone check them please? I am really worried about flying my drone with those batterys.

Thank you in advance!

I can't emagine why anyone would want to rip this battery. It seem it would be very expensive to counterfit. What about price ? Was that too good to be true ? If they were offered really cheep, then I would guess they could be fakes.

I realy do not believe it is worth the trouble to rip off the DJI batteries. And even if you did, the battery has a processor in it and can tell if the battery is a fake or not, if so it will not even start in the aircraft.

The price of the baterys arround here is between 150-170€ , i got this ones for 110€ each.
The wiggling of the baterys is what is more consearning at least for me =S

They look legit to me. All the markings are correct, look the same, mine are not a super tight fit in my drone either. Id do an IMU calibration for your drone.

"Has the drone is in the air i notice it is very weird and not behaving like it should"

What exactly did you observe?
A battery fake or genuine should not have much impact on anything more than keeping the Phantom up in the air.
If your batteries are flying properly and keeping the Phantom up in the air, they are probably genuine like all the other "fake" batteries that people ask about here.

The batery serial numbers are on the Photo Links above but i will leave them here:
082AD620310570
082AD6203100P8

Captain: I noticed he was't stabilizing like it should, and it only marked the home return point after it was like 100m of me, and didn't let me set it manually...

Thank you once again.

Regarding it not flying stable, that was where the previous suggestion of doing an IMU calibration may help. Regarding the batteries, I would upgrade the firmware on them as it suggests. If they were fake they would not work (a previous firmware upgrade took care of that).

If any there are still any doubts then one of the moderators here might check the serial numbers for you.

Thank you guys for all the replys! I really i apreciate the help!

If a moderator could check the serials i would be thankfull forever!
Just 1 more question, if somehow the batery falls out of the drone mid air, will dji cover the damage? I take very good care of my equipments and i freak out when something is not exactly how it is suposed to be!

Thanks for the photos. They sure look real. What about when you press the battery icon on controller? Did it give you all the info that should be there ?  Does it show levels. time left on battery...in percentage. I to would wait to see what the seroal numbers say.

Perhaps we will have a methane power source - The Phantom Raspberry Blower edition

Try searching YT for "la petomane leonard rossiter" that worked well if I remember. I think I almost had a rupture when I watched that originally.

Interesting, Post Offices here have red elastic bands like that. I use heaps of them to keep my dogs out of cupboards.

Without seeing the flight data I can't be certain, but that sounds like you launched without GPS lock which would have caused the Phantom to drift without horizontal position holding (atti mode).
When you were up there, it acquired GPS satellites and was able to use P-GPS mode.

I have done about 4 flights with the suspect batterys, i have been pushing them really hard, puting in to sport mode , fly straight untill it reaches 20m/s and then turning 180º, right after that going down and up, doing all sorts of stuff at max speed to see if the batery falls off. It doesen't... Actually, after running him for a while i hovered him on top of my head, and the batery had no gap! Ofc if i take the phantom by hand and wiggle the baterry, it shows up, but in flight, absolutely no gap. There is one more thing consearning me tho, is that, ocasionally, when i turn on my phantom, i get a "bateery error" yellow message on my srceen, but it goes away right after, and it doesen't happen every time.

Weren't they (the red P.O bands) one of the invasive species, along with rabbits and camels and foxes ???

Oh dear, there is such a great answer lurking in there, but i fear I would be branded racist.....

Oddly enough, our spaniel keeps eating the red bands if they drop off the doors, but next time I go to the post office, the nice lady there just gives me another hand full. The spaniel does suffer somewhat, she has a bad case of deju vu when the bands exit, they tend to snap back to where they came from.

Sorry to leave you with that mental image {:4_117:}

Interesting, but the profanity checker does not let me use the word c-o-c-k-e-r
