Does anyone know of a good backpack for the Mavic with foam inside it just like those pelican cases? Would also like to have some additional space for carrying my iPad with me.

You could just go straight to the pelican, someone recommended the 1510.  I picked up a 1520 but the size is right at the edge of approved carry-on sizes.  So for the Ipad you could probably set it up so it fits in the foam in the lid.  The lid foam isn't the pick and pluck but you can use an electric knife or a bread knife.  You could also put the ipad beneath the pick and pluck; there's about 1/4 inch layer underneath, but you probably wouldn't want to be pulling out everything just to get to the ipad.
Pelican has a service for custom foam, and there are a couple others out there....

One place that has a prefoamed for the mavic is dronecases (http://www.dronecrates.com/dji-mavic-pro-case)

Droneenthusiast had an article with a few options as well.  http://www.dronethusiast.com/best-dji-mavic-cases

Okay, one more thing to think about, if you're using your ipad to run dji go 4 instead of a phone you'll probably need some kind of mount.  Most of the pre-cut foam cases don't account for this so if you want everything in one container you'll either have to go with a custom foam insert, which will probably cost nearly as much as a pelican case, or just use the pic and pluck foam.  Funny, I was looking at a 39.95 hard case on amazon and though the pictures showed the foam all neatly configured for a mavic, if you read the fine print, you'll have to pick and pluck it yourself, so caveat emptor.
Incidentally, most US airlines have a max dimension of 22"X14"x9" and there are a couple internationals that are slightly less.  Google (ebags has a good list) can get you the info you need.  Better to be prepared since lithium batteries aren't acceptable in checked luggage.

This is the one I got. I received the first one a few days ago. It's pretty nice. Then they sent me a second one on accident.

You can always get another backpack and then insert the foam yourself.

I received my order of this backpack the other day,  Sorry, no pix, but the fit is great and there is lots of extra space for everything else, including my IPad Mini.  Unfortunately, it doesn't fit my DSLR very well, but can't have everything.

It's hella expensive but I ordered a backpack from GoProfessional. Mavic Backpack

Photography backpacks with movable cushioned dividers would work for most situations, but not the rigors of being slammed around while off-road on the motorcycle which is why I purchased a mavic. If I traveled by car I'd have stuck with the Phantom series.

I use the Vanguard Up-Rise 43.  https://www.cameranu.nl/nl/p298394/vanguard-up-rise-ii-43-pro-sling-bag
But if you fancy Peli and still want a backpack The Peli urban backpack might be something for you. It has an integrated hard case and room to store your iPad: http://www.innocatch.nl/index.php?ProdCode=PLU160

I got the following one here in UK, only £17 (free p+p), looked at others for my Mavic Fly more and a lot of them cost a hell of a lot more but don't have the space for all the bits and bobs, this one stores the whole Mavic Combo in it + more and a bonus is that it even lets the mavic be stored opened out with the long landing gear legs on it.
