Hi Frederick, thanks for taking the time to make this video. I'm going out recording today, so I'll be using your settings. I won't be post-processing, so I'll just stick with the cine like setting on 0-0-0. My Mac is a bit old and doesn't  have the power to handle 4K footage. Do you think it's better to record straight to 1080P or should I record 4K and create proxy?

That depends on how you plan you use your final render or master. If you want to upload to YouTube in 4K then that's your answer. Honestly though...If you're recording footage for fun and just want a record of your shots there's still nothing wrong with shooting in 1080. On a timeline when editing 1080 is much easier to work with than 4K. And after all, 1080 is still referred to as HD.

Hi Fred, very nice video and what I liked more is that you showed examples so everybody can choose what thinks is best. I'm shooting now in Cinelike but didn't play with Style or WB. Also very nice (I didn't know about exactly what they do) you mentioned about Gimbal Roll and Pitch Smoothness options.
I subscribed to your channel, waiting for more tips and tricks as I'm a noob in real drone world and post I'm learning now Resolve.
One question I have for you: shooting 4K@30fps is better in h.265 or h.264 from image quality point of view (only grading in post, no other changes)? Is there such a big difference when playing in native resolution on a 65" 4K Sony TV?

Thank you again for this informative video.

Great video and information! Just got my P4P+ - an amazing drone and technology. Will try your setting recommendations since I experienced some of the problems you mentioned on a bright sunny day in the footage filming a POI of my house. Thank you again - Peter

For the PSP+, it is under the camera icon, and to get to the camera icon you tap on the three dots on the upper right hand corner from the flight screen.

Your gimbal auto calibrates when you turn the Phantom on.

No, that's not the case.  It is initializing.

When you do a gimbal auto calibration you will see different movements.

How about recording in 4K and downsampling to 1080? Would the 1080 look better than if I recorded it straight as 1080 from the camera?

Also, what do you think of d-log? People have been talking about how it's better since the firmware update.

Ummm... It's better... but not great. It's still muddy and hard to work with in post. I'm sticking with Cinelike as I'm still getting great results.

Thanks for the kind words. H.265 isn't quite ready for prime time IMHO. But I'm hopeful the bugs will be worked out.

Reconding in 4K and rendering in 1080 always looks better than shooting in 1080 and rendering out in 1080. Much more information to work with in 4K even if you're working on a 1080 timeline with 1080 final renders.
