A compatibility problem in parameter backup and recovery functions have been detected in DJI A3 and N3 series flight controllers. Regular use of these functions may lead to unusual aircraft performance. We highly recommend avoiding these functions until the bugs have been resolved. Data stored while using previous and current firmware versions will no longer be compatible after firmware update.

The most recent firmware updates have been removed from dji.com as well as DJI Assistant 2 to avoid accidental use. If you require assistance downgrading your firmware, contact our aftersales representatives.

The next Firmware Version with bugs resolved will be released on January 18th.

Here're the details for your reference:
1. If the firmware has not been updated, please update it after January 18;
2. If the firmware has been updated and parameters have not been backed up or restored, the latest firmware can be used normally;
3. If the firmware has been updated and the parameters have been restored to the settings of the earlier version, please restore to factory settings and reset the flight controller settings. Then the latest firmware can be used normally.

If the functions haven't been used (I always set up from scratch after an update) is it OK to use the updates?

Yesterday, from no apparent reason my drone fliped to the ground little after takeoff with this new firmware. Can this be related?!

If you don't use this function, then it's not likely that it will affect you. If you want better piece of mind, however, you can downgrade until the firmware comes back again.

Without having some more information, I can't be certain whether it correlates with this update. If you want to start your own thread on the incident, I can help you from there.

From what was gathered, it's regarding the Assistant 2's ability to back up and reapply aircraft settings. Essentially, it's the 'Backup' section that's provided on post #4. Neither 'backup' or 'restore' is functioning as well as it should.

So if the settings were inputted from scratch there wouldn't be a problem, the issue is purely using the backup file?

Hello I have problems with my A3 just arrived from dji to be revised, today install it and at the time of updating the GPS and IMU does not let say (there are no updates) and he is asking me what I can do about it and install the Last version of software and does not work and later does not let update .... This is or is not affecting M600 latest firmware and assistant updates? I have flown 3 times and have had no issues.

Chrisansilver, no worries, this is not affecting M600.

Hello Nathalia in my case what can I do? Just got my A3 repair and with the software Assistant v2 1.0.5 works to the point where I have to update the IMU and GPS and if I do not it does not work and with the Assistant v2 1.0.9 does not allow me to connect to the PC The MAC.
I would like to know if when it is tested in the factory an A3 is made with Lightbridge or with conventional RC. I look forward to comments please ....... Thank you

Can someone explain why the update does not effect the M600? I want to be sure the bug wont effect me: I'm flying a M600, A3 Pro, LB2 with Ronin-MX.

That's why I asked when I first seen this, had two 40 minute flights and non eventful.. Rather windy today here on the Gulf Coast, M600 handled it fine. My confidence is starting to build...

I have the M600 Pro and recently upgraded the firmware, now it won't connect to the controller. Is this why?

m600 doesn't run the a3 firmware. it has its own different build

Thanks for responding. Can you explain why fansea94e9d0 had an issue after the update? I've had so many iproblems with the M600 that I'm wary of  any firmware updates.

The firmware is up, will update my N3 today and com back with an opinion.

Updated new firware today on my s1000+ it now does not work with the assistant software and two escs beep continuously.

I am stuck in a similar scenario with my A3. I can't connect to A3 controller with Pc but controller works via DJI go app. It updated the latest 1.7 and pow! Stuck again!

If DJI says an update will be out in next 12 hours that will fix this would be really nice

you have to use the new DJI assistant 1.0.9-2 from the same page
