I was flying the Mavic today on a full battery and updated software. Flew it around for around 15 min before it started telling the battery was getting low. It showed I still had 3 min and some odd seconds before I had to land it. It was about 80m directly above me. I started making it descend and as it got closer to the ground, it shot up in the air. I pulled the stick down and it came back down until it shot up again. It seems that I had no control. I feel like I've read about this somewhere, but I couldn't find it on  the forum.
Is that something that happens to other people? Ive flown in the same spot many times and it has never happened.
Help?

Sounds like you ran the battery down so low that it went into RTH and tried to land.

I'm experiencing the same issues.. Just received the drone and the issue manifested on my maiden flight. Was at 80m, pushed down on the throttle to bring it lower, and it entered "Landing" mode, almost as if it thought it was right above the ground. Cancelled it by pushing up on the throttle, and the drone immediately shot up to 180m. It probably thought there was something below it, hence the immediate climb to try to avoid it. Finally managed to bring it home after alternating between RTH and manual flight, all while the drone kept intermittently entering "Landing" mode.
