I would like to share my recent video shot using a Phantom 3 Professional in autumn 2016: flying over the fog in Hungary.

Nice video, inspiring music and good editing. Fog is such a great time to take out your drone and get amazing images!

How high up was the drone and were you able to see the drone? Looks great.

It's a nice video, thanks for sharing. I would be worried about water damage myself given that clouds are condensed water.

It was around 160 meters high only... The fog layer was quite soft luckily. Actually I saw through it from the ground at some places, that is why I attempted the fly over.
Fortunately, the Phantom did not get wet seriously. Only some minor water condensation occurred on the plastic body which was simply removed with a dry cloth.

It is a good video and could be passed off as above the clouds, then again Fog, Clouds pretty much the same thing. I never would attempt anything like that here in the US.

Tried to do the same last december in France, but the fog was so thick that the camera was completely blurred with drops on it ...

Are you not in an area that limits drones to 120 metres , 400 feet? and flying Visual line of sight?

Thanks Matt! You should be lucky with the fog. If it is too thick, it simply does not worth the risk to fly through. I hope you will succeed soon.

We do not have yet concrete regulations for UAVs (regulation is said to come later this year), but this do not mean that we fly without responsibility. We have the opportunity to track local air traffic prior to a flight, and of course there are unwritten rules to keep in mind.
On the other hand, let me suppose that there are exact rules in your country, for example flying over 120 meters is forbidden. This will not eliminate the possibility of accidents in itself: you can meet sightseeing and agricultural planes far below 120 meters...

I did a little fog flying above a tea farm near where I live.

I monitored the distance and height as wanted to make sure I didn't fly into the mountain behind the tea farm.

Thanks for your video. Here's mine.  Drone yes got some moisture but a quick wipe off was fine.

I had an eagle flying the thermals above me today.  I went up a few hundred meters but it was higher. I tried to get a shot of it on video but it was way above.
