Hello world, has anyone updated their firmware only to have your video go to crap? The video was perfect before the update, now it is unviewable. Can anyone help? Is it possible to return to older firmware?

Try rolling the RC back to V1.6.....I suspect you just upgraded it to V1.8. This appears to cause problems especially for the Android community.

Try this:-

Connect display device (with wifi connection) to RC and power both up (aircraft should be off).

Run DJI Go, on initial screen (where it displays aircraft type etc) at top right hand corner you will see a 'graduation hat' icon (or three lines if Android). Hold your finger on that for about 5 seconds and release. You should now see a black screen appear with an option to roll back RC firmware. Make sure RC is well charged, takes about 5 minutes or so. Power down when complete. Restart all and check all working, you may need to relink RC to aircraft.

Make sure you also have a full battery as this may take time!

Role back the AC to 01.02.0503 with the assistant worked well. Rolling back RC to 1.6 was strange. after the AC was done I had the option in GO to downgrade to 1.6. Started the downgrade and it took a long time it also was stuck at 99% so I rebooted GO and the RC. All rebooted as usual, Info came up I was now at 1.5.8 on the RC and downgrade to 1.6 wanted confirmation, I hit downgrade and it downloaded and installed, it took about 30 minutes. I think it had to go back to 1.5.8 before being able to go to 1.6.

Could you please clarify which Phantom model you have and what mobile device you are using?

What's the Android module? Is it in our device recommended list?
Do you have another mobile device to test with?
The latest RC firmware version is 1.8.0, aircraft firmware version 1.2.602.
If you want to downgrade the RC firmware version, you could follow Aardvark's advice.
For aircraft firmware, you could do the downgrade via DJI assistant.
