Hi, is anyone else having issues with range on their phantom 3 ADVANCED or PROFESSIONAL? I cant remember if it happened before or after the lastest update but my range is seriously horrible. I cant fly to the end of the block without it cutting out and and coming home. I never had this problem before, I am an experienced user, I know about antenna positioning and i have tried several different areas. Is anyone else having this issue? My phantom is out of warranty but I will have to send it back anyway because the shell is cracking again.

Dji support, please help.

no, I updated when it came out. Since dji likes to copy Apple so much, im starting to think they are purposely crippling their old devices just like Apple.

Nothing should have changed if you did not up grade FW recently.   1 more question?   What devive r you using.  Are auto app updates turned off?

yes turned off, dji go app is up to date. Same range result with the dji GSP app. Running an ipad mini 2.

i checked the antenna wires in the drone and gave them a little tug. they all seem they are plugged in...Dji support, is there anyone who can help me

I am having normal range, but I am still using firmware from 2 gens ago.
Maybe antenna connectors have loosened? or do you think firmware?

Michael, No problem here with my Phantom 3 Pro'. All firmware is current, and the Go app as well.

May I know how long you've owned it?
If you have a friend with the same drone, maybe you can link his remote to your aircraft and check the performance.

I also have a P3A with all the latest, and haven't experienced any change whatsoever.

I can get to the he end of the block, so probably around 40 meters or so. I have had it for a year and a half, I am  past my warranty.
I've tried using custom channels and everything, no luck. My range SUCKS

I found a range extended  by fat shark let you know how good it is had to send in so they can put it on  expensive  so far for the fat shark

Try out in a open field I have read someone had problems  got away from things  worked OK then I have same problem but have power lines and towers around got out of town seams to work I have the advance

Being in an open area away from any electrical or ferrous metal interference, will still always give you a better flight.  Too bad, some folks are so locked in to their vicinity, and can't visit the country side to really appreciate the longer flight possibilities...

I'm experiencing the same poor range on a P3 Standard.  I've only had it about a month and have only been able to go a max of 1100 feet.  I have opened controller up and checked antenna connections and all seem fine.  Terrible range even compared to the conservative estimate DJI puts on it.  Not sure what my options to get it checked out by DJI are.

I have the P3A as well with no issues which I bought in December 2015. I did not patch to Go App that just came out a few days ago. Perhaps some new radio interference in your area?  

My p3p is also experiencing the same issue. I wrecked a drone and turned it in through dji care....they deducted 173 dollars off my plan. Then they sent me a new drone that sucks. Its unsteady and image cuts out at 700 ft. Im really upset about it and need the issues resolved...then the online chat is down..go figure. Losing faith in the product fast. Please help

I would try a completely different area to fly, find a open field , big park but point is go to a different location & see if range increases

Have been in multiple areas with zero obstructions. My first drone was steady as a rock and crystal clear. Trust me ive ruled out every obviouse possibility. The message error is transmission related. If i record video, there is no error during playback. Only whats on my monitor.

May I know your aircraft firmware version?
What mobile device you use to connect phantom WiFi?
You have tried different open locations and get the same results, right?

My AC is on 1.8.10.   Also running version 3.1.4 of the DJI Go app on IOS (iPhone 6).  Yes, have tried in several different spots including over a very secluded lake area and over the ocean.  cannot get out past 1100 feet.

Please try to delete the APP, reinstall it, then re-link aircraft and remote again.
Do you have a friend with the same aircraft? maybe you can link his remote to your aircraft, check the performance again.

I also have some range problems, I own the P3 Advanced but the range is only 400-500 Meter

Check your battery levels when you first launch just too see how their doing.If their bad this may be your problem.

No i only use them if they are 100% loaded

óne battery isn't latest filmware i think so, how can i update it easy?

I went out of the city and to the middl of nowhere and flew out over 1km over the ocean. I think the P3 has become more vulnerble to interfernce than before
