"37 year old male from Stratford upon Avon arrested on suspicion of Drone related offences

On Monday 23rd January 2017 PCSO Andy Steventon and I attended a residential address in Stratford upon Avon and arrested the 37 year old occupant on suspicion of committing offences under the Air Navigation Order 2016.

The property was searched and two drones seized along with computing, mobile telephone and digital storage equipment.

The arrest came about following the discovery of videos uploaded to the Internet showing drone flights taking place across congested areas and close to airfields of South Warwickshire.

The arrested male has been bailed until mid-February with conditions not to possess, use or be involved in the flight of a UAV (Drone)."

There is more to this than you think.  I hate to post a link to another forum but basically some guy in the UK has a facebook page (Drone Police UK) and is collecting what he thinks are illegal videos and sharing them with the cops.

Too bad, some people can't live their own lives, and allow us the freedom to do the same...

But we need to show some restraint too, as everyone isn't onboard with us. ;-)

Drones got a bad name, beginning with weapon drones the military use.
Then from nosy RC drone pilots, playing peek a boo... Voyeurism.

Here in the states the FAA can no longer initiate an investigation based on video evidence alone.

They can use the video in a broader investigation but the video can not be the sole reason to take enforcement action.

I don't know how this translates to local law enforcement and video.

I think it sucks that some wanker is purposely showing Drone videos to cops to get the operator in trouble.  Someone needs to get a life and has to much time on their hands.

Atleast negative drone use, aren't seen on the news everyday, like a few short months ago.  ;-)

We need more positive reinforcements. Call in the drone Calvary!! Haha

Yeah it is, it's a new start up company in Ireland developed the softwear in conjunction with dji i'm of to do a two day course with them on Friday. Really looking forward to it..

Perhaps a new topic of good drone stories may help to put them in to one place. Not endless nice pictures, but how drones have really helped individiuals and the community.

I'd be very happy to read some of those stories. I know they're out there, but they don't get attention like the negative stuff. We need to bring them to the surface...
