Hi, there is no hard written rules for drone in Malaysia, DCA is however usually follows FAA rules, also just remember to fly responsibly.

Hi there, I have just bought my spark too. Not the flymore though... now I am thinking to buy the remote.. wanna ask what's the max distance you can get? Cause I see 2km is US FCC, non FCC is only 300m.... so little... I wanna find out what's the distance for Malaysia remote control... hopefully more than 300m...

I download form for permit application and there is a section need to fill up license no. So basically need license in order to apply permit?

actually depending where you fly and the people around you .. just fly... but always Safety consideration is priority! Read up some areas like PJ KL ..more urban zone are off limits so we don't try at all... for mountains zone...we attempted ..

I am planning to buy DJI Spark or Mavic Pro. Before this i want to know if any permit is required to fly drone in Malaysia, mostly Klang. I have read the guideline on DCA Malaysia homepage but it is confusing. It mentioned UAS below 20kg no need permit but small unmanned surveillance aircraft need permit. DJI Spark and Mavic Pro are drone with camera. so which category is it ?

You just have normal fly so is no issues this place.

very happy receive my mavic air from china without any issue at custom at airport !

I fly back on last Saturday direct from Ipoh to Singapore. Any type of portable battery must be hand carry. Meaning can check in the drone but without the battery.
