So trying to get a solid idea of who is having the RTH issue with the lastest DJi Go app.
I am using iOS on an iphone 6 and stopped all auto updates and firmware.

Does this affect Android or both?

I'm on android, it affected me,rolled back to 2.9.1 Go app and all seems well with rth function now..john

which phantom? I use IPHONE6+ and MINI4 with no problems running the latest firmare on P4P AND P4P+

My understanding from reading posts is that it only affects the P3 series, and that's the entire P3 series.  And yeah, only if you have android.

What's it doing? Is it sending a RTH reset point at the bird?

I am wondering if that's what happened to the person that was in Australia.

There was a YouTube video posted a few days ago by Dave_H  showing this happening to someone, and the giveaway was the fact that even before take off it showed the distance from the controller and the drone to be over 1000ft away.... So my question is, as long as people are checking to make sure that the figure in that particular box checks out to be right, are they then good to go? Are ther any cases where the distance has changed mid flight....as the video showed it was incorrect from the beginning

"distance from the controller and the drone to be over 1000ft away" It was in meters, not feet. It was 1677 meters (5502 feet), not good at over a mile. I've already back dated my Go app, and would tell anyone not to use version 3.1.2 of Go. Doesn't matter if it's good at take off, what if it glitches out in the middle of a flight and you don't notice.

I am using an Nvidia Shield K1 with go app 2.9.1. I had used go app version 3.1.2 and it had the same problem you are expieriancing. Once I downgraded to v2.9.1 the problem went away. My Phantom 3s is using firmware v1.8.10

The home point is also being reset while the P3x is in flight.  There are quite a few threads on this.  It's been a known problem for the Go app version 3.1.2 (android version) for maybe 10-12 days now... and counting...

'Roll back' is just a figure of speech.

Uninstall 3.1.2 then reboot and download and run 3.0.1.apk or 2.9.1.apk ( links are in Phantom Help)

Be sure to turn off auto updating in Google Play Store or it will force an update back to 3.1.2

I can't recall seeing anyone using the iOS version of DJI GO reporting a problem. If I missed it, someone please point me to a thread/discussion about it.

Could I just use a IOS device or is it only for Android.
