Hi all,

Just wondering as I am having major battery issues with iphone 6 plus, seen many videos with people using the ipad mini 4.

I understand the need for the GPS hence the use of the cellular ipad.

Do you actually  need to install a PAYG card in the ipad or is it just having that functionality enough ?

No you don't, i bought Also an iPad mini 4 cellular and i didn't put the SIM and It works like a charm. Much better than my iPhone 6s, Who had the battery issue.

What happens if you dont use cell?

I am fairly certain that you do not have GPS, therefore you would have to cache the maps and rely on the controller GPS.

Thanks for the answer @rodpanam.  Looks like another £500 purchase coming up, damn thing is getting pretty expensive now lol.

In addition to / instead of caching maps, you can get dynamic mapping with a wifi-only iPad Mini by connecting it to a wifi source such as a cell phone's personal hotspot.
