What were you doing, that it turned around & dove in the water?

As it hit the water I was already running towards it to try save it as it started to behave funny just before it turned just as I tilted the camera up actually.Nearly broke my toe running down a bank.As soon as it hit the water It then proceeded to fly up and away.

Wow, that was painful for me to watch. Even though I already knew what was about to happen.

That seems so innocent, in the beginning, then it took off, with a mind of it's own.

Yes, have you already contacted DJI, and sent them the DAT files?
That's a first step, to getting to the bottom of this.

I wonder how deep the water is, where it dove in?

If you know someone with diving gear... To retrieve it...

Not sure about the depth but the area is well known for Crocodiles and tiger sharks.

Oh, well join the crowd then. Yes, laughter is the best medicine...
Good for you, having a great attitude about this all.  I'd be gutted, and blue...

Did you retrieve your aircraft? It doesn't look like you were to far out into the ocean.

I loaded your flight log into Healthy Drones and it only had the "gimbal yaw endpoint reached" notification.
Even though it didn't show any compass errors, is it possible you were near some type of metal ore deposits in the ground that would have caused a bad compass reading. You weren't very high off the ground and there is a mound of earth just south of where you flew.

The way it rotated around as if it was trying to find magnetic North. I had a similar event when I flew near underground iron ore. Almost lost it to a lake.

Unable to retrieve the bird as Said in my original post as soon as it hit the water it then flew up about 30 doing all sorts of crazy maneuvers and continued to fly 300m out over the ocean.

So after 2 weeks of back and forth with dji this is what I get
Due to there is no further flight records can be provided. The crash reason is not sure. If you need to purchase a P4 aircraft excludes remote controller and charger, just as the below website showing. We will try our best to apply for a special coupon for you. They haven't even asked me to send in my controller to be looked at to see if it has a problem. All because after my AC dropped into the water of it's own accord then decided to up and fly away with no further logs recorded after its initial dunking in the ocean. Thanks very much dji but I won't be spending my hard earned on another product of yours.

Dji please focus on why my AC dropoed into the ocean in the first place,as that is the issue I have provided the logs and video of said event.

They have told me because there is no data for the actual fly away .The cause of the crash is unknown. There is no data of flyaway because it dropped itself into the water then flew away.

I can see their point. There is no evidence other than your word of what happened.

So then explain to me what causes it to drop into the water in the first place. They have that data and video.

Did you have your VPS turned off? I had flown over water and was not aware that the VPS should be turned off first, luckily I didn't crash into the water when I noticed my phantom seeming to move up and down without and input on the up/down stick. My phantom didn't spin like yours did, but it did scare me when I noticed it raising and lowering so I brought it back to land as soon as I saw it happening. This may not be the case with yours , but since I haven't seen that mentioned, thought it might be worth asking.

It is very likely that neither the flight data or the video gave them any clue as to what happened. Of course no-one on here has been able to come up with a rational explanation as to what happened either. That also means there was nothing to say anything on the aircraft failed.

Oh it failed alright that's why I no longer have a P4.Why would I intentionally put it in the water,it did that all on its own.
