Is it possible to fly the Inspire 2 with only the FPV Camera?  Or is it required to have either the X5S or X4S attached to fly?

It is possible with Inspire 1, although I have no FPV whatsoever. Therefore only flying within LOS or with a map is possible for me. Disconnect the X camera, power the motors on the ground without props attached (the app will warn you, but ignore it for a moment) and see if FPV camera transmit the image. If it does, you should be good to go. Not without props, of course :-)...

Also the size of the FPV image can be changed by click on the +/- icon within the FPV screen.

I assumed being that the FPV Camera can display on the DJI Go 4 App then it would be possible to fly without an X5S or X4S camera.

Thanks for this discussion.  As I mentioned in a previous post I would like to remove the X5S or X4S and mount another camera (Sequoia in this case).  I realize that I will need to make or buy sometime of mounting mechanism or gimble and attache underneath somehow.  The point is, is that this looks doable.

What sort of flight time are you getting without the camera on?

did a flight the other day and got just over 25  mins and down to 10% batteries on both. Don't know where DJI get their times from?

Probably hovering in ideal conditions and landing at 2%

They may be getting there times (25-27min) if the remote is set to atti mode and all the sensors turned off.

I thought I read somewhere that you were not supposed to drop the batteries below 10%?

15 mins with I1 and X5 with everything turned on.
20 mins with I2 and X5S with everything turned on.

So basically only 5 mins more with Inspire 2 (dual batteries) than Inspire 1 (Single battery)

I know it's not all about flight time but geez I was kinda expecting maybe 22 or 23 mins! with the I2 X5S combo.

You should calibrate your batteries every 10 charges which involves dropping the power down to 3.3v. this can equate to around 0% sometimes. The percentage is never that accurate which is why it is wise to have the voltage displayed on the app.

Do you use Healthydrones.com? They will analyse your flight data giving you access to some useful info such as theoretical flight time.

Yeah I get that Mark but there is a difference between flying your drone down to 3% and doing a discharge.

I'm not suggesting anyone should fly their drone down to 3% dude.

fisrt part to this reply is and quote "Probably hovering in ideal conditions and landing at 2%" from your previous post above.and secomdly possibly a Misunderstanding then... when I said the comment below I was referring to the time flown on the I2 down to 10% nothing to do with deep cycles or anything like that.

This is funny,
You cannot run anything off a Dji battery beyond the damaging cell level, thats the point of a smart battery.
Its stops before that. Even spinning on the ground.
