In a nut shell, most video is shot using the the reciprocal of twice the frame rate to achieve pleasant motion blur that most are accustomed to see in movies and video. So if you are shooting a frame rate of 30FPS use a shutter speed of 1/60, 60 FPS - 1/120 I see you are in Ireland so most likely you will be shooting PAL so @ 25FPS -1/50 or 1/60 etc. Most find that in the early morning and late afternoon ND8 works middle of a sunny day ND16. However it takes a bit of experimentation. Put on a filter. Raise the Phantom up about 10 meters and point the camera in the general area that you are interested in. adjust the camera parameters to provide a centered histogram with the Shutter speed at the above mentioned numbers and the ISO at 100 or 200. If it's overexposed use a darker filter. IF you have to set the ISO above 200 change to a lighter filter. |
