What happens if you go from 2.4 to 5.8 in mid flight? Do you have to pick one or the other before take off?

I'm thinking that auto is only for the channels, not the frequency

DJI go 4 picks between frequencies and channels to find whichever combination has the least interference. As advised I would just leave it on auto

No, this guy is exactly right: the 'Auto'-setting only changes the CHANNEL automatically, in the 2.4 or 5.8 band. It will NOT change between 2.4 and 5.8 automatically.
For the rest of the video I'm not so sure: the video seems to imply that it is the Phantom , when fired up, that decides which BAND (2.4 or 5.8) to take and then stays on that band. I certainly was not aware of this and I'm not sure if that is true.
My P4P anyway always starts in 5.8 and I have to reset it to 2.4 because 2.4 performs many times better than 5.4 in my area, which is pretty urban and suburban by the way.

Maybe the layout of the App is confusing folks

Just wanted to know if anyone changes the frequency mid flight if you have problems with transmission

My phantom 4 pro+ always starts out in 2.4.. I take into account my surroundings and also what the RC is telling me.. Auto is probably the best bet however if you are not looking for max distance then 5.8 is safe.. If you are looking to fly the max distance then 2.4 is the answer.. I have not changed mid flight and have never felt the need. When in doubt i myself use 5.8...

Read the manual, it tells you that the RC monitors and switches between channels and frequencies constantly to find the best combo, depending on interference.

To answer your question, yes I have changed mid flight on several times and have not had any problems.

Can you direct me towards the place you saw this? I have read the manual and am having trouble finding this part
