Asuming we are in the middle of a flight and suddenly rain begins. What time do we have for returning home and land?
Possibility of short circuit with rain water?
Anyone deal with such a situation?

Land ASAP. For what it's worth though, many of us have flown while it was snowing out (not recommended) and haven't had an issue.

I like your photo, really points out the possible issue or should I say it hits home

Upon looking at it....There are some exposed connections...What about salt spray from ocean flights? Salt+Water=Corrosion and eventual failure.

If there are rain clouds in the area, were you wise to take off at all?
I've flown my cheaper craft (Phantoms) in spring showers that have crept in, but I was anticipating them and stayed close enough to land quickly.

The salt spray accumulation probably needs to be removed post flight.
Alcohol is a pretty good clean-up for hard to reach areas that need to dry back out quickly.
For the easy to get to surfaces, something like Windex is your friend...

Good airmanship is about proper preparation. therefore a weather check before you set out is essential, and perhaps get a weather radar app on your phone or Ipad , then check before you take off. (if you are in the UK then Home and Dry is a great app for weather radar)

Better to avoid a situation than to find yourself in one

In the place I live if you only flow on sunny day you would get about 30 flights a year

I remember reading somewhere one company is coming out with waterproof drones that can be flown in the rain.  Amphibious drones would be cool. I cant wait in a couple of years for the type of drones that will be available!!!

Fog and high humidity are also moisture magnets.
