Hi people,

Today I had a really scary experience with the Mavic. It not only drifted away, but it speeded away in 35-40 km/h and showing plenty of anomalies with the gimbal and more.

I've had the Mavic for around 3.5 months now, I'm getting pretty confident with it. This is the first time it really scared me. I quickly accepted that the most likely outcome here was that I will lose my drone and I would have to try to force it into a tree / building or similar, as I was in a crowded residential area that I was unfamiliar with. Didn't want to injure someone. But after a few minutes flying uncontrollable, I was able to gain some control of it, and luckily I was able to land. Even with a strong and a will of it's own.

I pulled the flight data and also uploaded the video. I can promise you that this was more scary behind the sticks than what you can see in the video, as I had minimal visibility (flying from inside a compund with tall buildings and I didn't know the area, so it was challenging to navigate using the camera. Add to it that I had an airport very close to where I was flying.

The anomalies happen around 1:00.

I have no experience reading flight data - So I kindly ask if someone can check the flight logs and see if you can understand what happened here?

Hmm, while landing I saw this high voltage cables. Maybe it's their fault?

Looks like toiletbowling to me for a short while. Been a while we saw that. It also shows how BADLY the gimbal can keep the horizon level when its going sideways. Anyway, check your post, the logs are not correctly linked. Also CONTACT SUPPORT! And upload logs to them and link the video and keep us up to date.

Were you using litchi at the time?? Camera angle looks high.

Can you upload your flight log to Healthy drones or phantom help.

Did it change into ATTI mode automatically when this occurred?
Could you please clarify the firmware version?

Yep, exact same thing mine did for 8 seconds on Mavic flight #82 at the beach.  I was in Cinematic Mode and Mavic suddenly went into an unstable ATTI mode.  Mavic actually started to rotate about the longitudinal axis.  The controls were ATTI, but with also some weird course lock/toilet bowl effect to control inputs.  The log of doesn't really spell out the ACTUAL experience (just shows ATTI for 8 seconds & 18 sats).  Is this when the flight data from Mavic would need to be sent 'somewhere?'

That was FW x.x.300 & GO 4.0.2 (Android KitKat)

Apart from other things it would appear your compass calibration is way off?   did you travel a long distance to this area for this flight,  and was the compass calibrated before take off ?  only a question and not judging.

Looks like you went into ATTI mode or as its known to a lot of Mavic owners BATTI mode
